The Heavyweight Division has been rank rotten for at least 10 years mate - the worst era ever.

Big Frank for example would have little problems with any of Tony Dosh's opponents with only Wlad giving him a decent fight.

Imagine Tony Dosh v Iron Mike in his prime etc - much stiffer task than Takams and Parker

The only one I would put Money on beating him is Lewis. That said it would be a great fight and who knows in & yrs time I might give Joshua more of a chance in that one.

A prime haye would also be interesting as would a prime fury

Fury would do far better against AJ than Haye could have, he takes a better shot and has the reach, Haye struggled with Wlad`s reach badly and it would be the same with AJ, Povetkin had better head movement coming in than Haye did and did better vs Wlad who held a lot which is something he didn`t have to do vs Haye.

Mike without Rooney wasn`t that good and that fight was really messy, Frank`s era wasn`t that good either, not until he got older and Bowe and others turned up.

When I was a kid Frank Bruno seemed a huge man, mad to think he was only 6”3...the same height as Haye & Bellew, smaller than Whyte, Parker etc.

Same here, I was 12 years old when I went to see a friend of the family box at te York Hall in Bethnall Green against light middleweight Jimmy Gable and Bruno was in the crowd, he walked up to the ring at one point maybe because he knew our friend W.O.Wilson but as he walked back to his seat, my dad said he didn`t look as big as he did on TV, but yes as a kid I remember pointing out Tyson`s bicep in a photo in a boxing magazine to people at my school, and showing them Bruno`s back which was in a photo with the pun 'Bruno`s back' because they were advertising his first comeback fight after the Tyson loss in `89, his back seemed amazingly muscled to me, I was 15 at that point.

Crazy, and I wasn't aware that he was actually 'only' 6'3. I met him when I was a toddler at a pantomime and recall him as being about 7 foot haha - but even recent memory watching fights back, I had no idea he was the same size as those guys. Chisora is 6'1 and a half and a natural and authentic heavy, however and Bruno had a different body to Haye and Bellew. Just goes to show how the division has moved so much in favour of the super (and super tall) heavies, however.

Not too different from Povetkin actually. Povetkin is way more seasoned that Tyson against taller opponents... something Tyson did struggle with from time to time. Povetkin has no issues finding his range when giving up 7 inches in height difference.

I think you are reading too much into past era's, today it's shaping up to be better than back then.

    Cheer up grandpa

OK Dad I take the telling off but at present, Joshua's opponents except Wlad have been nearly zero risk puddings with Povetkin well past it at 39 mate - Bruno fought a prime Tyson.

Bruno's era was much stiffer than Tony Dosh's PPV gravy train to date.

Stop listening to Adam Smith and look at the cannon fodder facing Tony Dosh - eg I don't think any World Heavyweight contender can have an easier ride than facing Charles Martin.

The division is about to pick up with the rot starting to be cleaned out permanently including Toe Haye and David Price types but we still need to see Joshua v Wilder and Joshua v Fury to make a decent judgement.

My opinion of Joshua is he is there to be cleaned out when the first decent contender emerges - poor stamina, suspect chin and he has become very tentative since the Wlad fight.

On the positive side, he could wipe out anyone with his power but he needs to be facing better opponents before we compare to a previous era.

Depends on whose your top 5 though, I can`t think of 5 British heavies that could have beat AJ at all.

What decent contenders are there going to be? They aren't.grown in accelerated clone chambers! What you see now is what.you get. Joshua is already closing 30.

And Dillian Whyte aint no walk in the park... neither is Wlad or even Pov despite their age. It just doesn't mean much toe me seeing opponents being past prime age being dismissed.

What you.lose in youth you make up for in wisdom and experiences... thats more than enough to make up for whatever "freshness" you lost by being past 35.

Povetkin looked fresh as a daisy... can you move like him? I bet you can't... I cant either and Im supposedly in my.prime. They become grandpas when they can no longer hold their own for more than 5 rounds.

So enough with the 'old jokes' it means jack ****.

Have you seen the breazeale v Ugonoh fight? Breazeale is tough as *****... and Ugonoh is as prime as you get. He is hardly a can. Besides Wilder doesnt want to step up and take what hes worth... so why yoi.blaming AJ for getting what he is worth? Three belts mate.look at them and weep.

Please tell me what contender it would take AJ to beat for you to accept as worthy???

Are we.going to grow a contender organically in your back garden or is there someone alive today... or who might be in contetion within a few years... ?

Tyson wasn`t in his prime after sacking Rooney and was knocked out by Douglas to fights after the Bruno fight, Bruno`s chin was always questioned after Jumbo Cummings nearly knocked him out and then Bonecrusher KO`d him after Frank tired badly.
