It would be much easier to convince people if you made the exact same thread but with Wilder instead.

Who has he not faced? Why moan about Joshua not facing everybody when he seems to be in the middle of doing exactly that but then back Deontay Wilder who hasnt fought ANYBODY yet in double the fights. But Ortiz doe But Ortiz doe????? Thats 1 and he was nothing more than an inferior Povetkin who also never fought everybody.

Lewis didn't fight everyone and it took him almost a decade to unify and be undisputed. He lost his 4th title defense and retired when he said he would rematch Vitali after a failed Tyson rematch and RJJ attempt .

His best prime opponent was Morrison who what seemed losing some explosive movements probably from HIV ?

Joshua has already more consecutive title defense wins if you don't count the official Holyfield draw and has more prime guys in top then Lewis fought.

The hard truth for the mentally challenged on here is to look at Lewis's 18 and 19th opponent and see if you want to keep doing threads like this if it is Joshua holding the HW division up at 22 fights ! :babeando:

Lewis fought and won his first world title in his 23rd fight.

AJ has his 23rd fight coming up next, and won his first title in his 16th fight. Has already beaten the best of the previous era in Wlad, and another world champion in Parker. Povetkin is another legacy defining win as is Whyte.

AJ is ahead of where Lewis was at this stage by some margin.

You can only beat the best of your era, and the current era is always under rated at the time, which is why judgements can only be made 15-20 year plus down the line.

    Botha? LOL
AJ already fought at least 5 better opponents than Botha. One can argue that Martin and Breazeale might have beaten Botha too.

And the version of Tyson, that Lewis fought, was beyond shot. Wlad, Povetkin, hell even Parker would beat that version of Tyson. Whyte might have been caught early considering his poor defense, but if he survived early rounds it would end the same way as Tyson vs Danny Williams, because the version of Tyson that fought Lewis and Tyson that fought Williams were exactly the same.

Wilder has fought outside of his country so that doesn't work.

Usyk has went to every single opponent's backyward and scalped every single one.

Only cowards are terrified of leaving their own country.

This is one reason why Andre Ward gets no respect.

I hate to say it but Lewis cared more about legacy than money unlike Joshua. He accepted 33% for the first Holyfield fight, never even tried for 50% like Wilder is now.

Also when Lewis was WBC champion and Bowe had no belt and was fighting for $1-1.25 mill against Mathis and Donald he didn't try and stiff Bowe with a poor payday like Bowe did when he was champion and Lewis the challenger, he didn't offer Bowe 10% or a flat fee he offered him 32% to make the fight and the fight got signed.

Lewis didn't mind overpaying opponents to secure fights the money was secondary. Obviously that's no longer the case today with Wilder and Joshua it seems to be more about money than legacy. Now obviously Joshua is in a slightly different position, he's a far bigger draw than Lewis was and Wilder is a worse draw than guys like Bowe, Holyfield and Tyson who were proven PPV draws without Lewis.

Joshua's position is more like Tyson's where he was clearly the cash cow of the division and everyone else made less. He offered Holyfield 25% in their first fight, Seldon too as champion got 25%, Bruno got 14.5% as champion, Spinks got about 35% to unify all the belts with Tyson.

So while ideally Joshua could be more like Lewis and care less about his percentage and more about making this fight happen, Wilder too needs to recognise if Bowe, Holyfield, Seldon, Bruno and Spinks could make far less than 50% to make the fight why can't he do the same?

Wilder was more than willing to accept less than 50% before he was scheduled to fight Tyson Fury.

His stock will sky rocket providing he is victorious against Fury.

Which is why he will then be in the position to accept nothing less than 50% since he will be the longest reigning WBC champion as well as being considered lineal champion.

This is an odd thread. I thought Joshua has a fantastic resume for a young champ.
