Woah that's a big shift in the amateur game if it happens, it basically sees the death of AIBA and the WBA taking over the amateur game.

As bad as the WBA are they are still a probable improvement from AIBA or at least I hope so.

AIBA won't let it happen easily.

True that WBA is much more better organization than AIBA, however if they control amateur boxing as well. Then, they'll become very powerful and have the ability to overshadow other pro organizations, thus monopolize the boxing world.

Can you imagine the WBA being the better choice here?! But it actually is

Let's hope we don't get interim, regular and super amateur world and olympic champions, if it really happens.

EXACTLY!! wlad supporting the WBA???? the WBA are downright criminals…..if the Mainstream media get an idea of what the wba has been doing the last couple of years, it will end in a shitstorm and Boxing will never see the Olympics again.

Maybe Joshua knocked the sense out of this guy…….

While that's true one of the biggest problems with boxing as a sport is that it's so splintered. Other sports over the last century have surpassed boxing in popularity and it's influence because they have a united governing body that can push the sport as a whole towards more professionalism. Look at sports like tennis, football, NFL etc they've all come from being behind boxing to huge sporting businesses that dwarf boxing.

Not only is Wladimir shamelessly shilling for the corrupt WBA, if you play the video backwards you'll hear Wladimir spewing more satanic messages than a Jimmy Page/Judas Priest bootleg double LP.
Now I'm in need of an exorcist.

My God that would be awful if it did happen. But I doubt it will the difference is that if WBA does get the Olympic license they'll have a monopoly on amateur boxing so there's no need to create multi titles to milk sanctioning fees as every amateur boxing event worth anything would be run by them.

WBA is not better than AIBA and sadly we will never get NATIONALISM out of selective judging. We are not the only sport that deals with that issue. Look at figure skating, gymnastics and all other sports that have subjective scoring. It can be better and it must get better but WBA is NOT the answer

Man just let amteur boxing die, nobody gives a fuk. The last decades the aiba had so many pathetic tries to make amateur boxing more enjoyable for the public by getting rid of helmets and those stupid super series stuff where they fight in teams for like 6 rounds. No one cares. The sport is as corrupted as pro boxing without all the drama, blood and glamour of the pro, which is also lacking in the past years.

If the amateur game dies you'd see a knock on effect in pro boxing. You only have to look at the effect of cutting funding in the US to the amateur game to see that.

Eh. The amateurs are massively important to the pro game. The majority of top boxers come from the amateurs and become marketable through it, get sponsors, allows them to be picked up by bigger promotions and pushed, trained better etc.

Just going on Olymoians today's top boxers are pretty much dominated by them:

Lomachenko, Usyk, Joshua, Valdez, Diaz, Ramirez, Spence, Andrade, Derevyanchenko, Alvarez, Jack, Warren, Ward, Campbell, Wilder, Povetkin, Glazkov, Murata, Golovkin, Dirrell, Degale, Saunders, Gvozdyk, Beterbiev, Ugas, Vargas, Yafai, Joyce, Yoka, Solis, Aloyan, Selby, Dogboe, Verdejo, Shumenov, Lee, Taylor, Cukcay, Korobov, Breazeale, Yigit, Horn, NDam, Gamboa, Ali, Lopez, Arroyos, Rigondeaux, Hunter, Mares, Kavaliauskas, Khan, Takam, Martirosyan, Pedraza, Shelestyuk, Falcao, Hooper, Kolling, Browne, Dychko, Ruenroeng, Zou, Indongo, Perez, Johnson, Price, Hrgovic, Buatsi, Okolie, Yellusinov, Kelly, Fowler, Stevenson and Escandon for a **** load of pros. Who have fought at world level or are tipped to be.
