Question for those who think Usyk is too small to take punches from big heavyweight punchers

If heavyweight KO punchers like Joshua and Wilder fail to KO Usyk, does it make them feather fisted?

I tend to agree. A big puncher will hurt people of smaller stature. That being said, getting stopped relates to a number of factors: defense, attack and chin.

If you never get hit, you could be packing glass. I think Floyd's chin may be susceptible but no-one landed super clean apart from SSM and Judah and only once.

If you are continually attacking you can protect your chin Kirkland style, until a big counter puncher lands.

Final line of defense is chin, which Oliver McCall and Antonio Margarito for example used extensively in their career

I don't know how good Usyk's chin 's but I know he has decent defense, exerts solid attacking pressure and appears to have taken a few decent pilunches. If he faces an AJ type fighter I'm almost certain he would be extremely cautious knowing that his chin may not hold up against a fully leveraged power shot on the button.

Expect the first 4-6 rounds to be extremely cagey. Usyk would apply a similar strategy to that against Bellew - tire opponent out and slowly tighten the screws. Take away the KO and then go for the accumulation KO. A decision against AJ may be difficult but dominating the last 6-7 rounds may be his best shot.

Not every rule is set in stone. There are exceptions to many rules! Usyk happens to be an exception.

Usyk has already done things no boxer has ever previously done before. Such as winning all 4 cruiser weight belts simultaneously in the cruiser weight division, whilst doing it all in merely 16 fights, and winning every title fight in his opponent's backyard. So why should I believe he couldn't also do things in the heavyweight division that is unprecedented?

Usyk has already proven how durable he is. Out of 200+ amateur + pro boxing bouts combined, he has not even been dropped once from a face or a head shot. And he has faced all types of opponents. Super heavyweights who are as big, strong and arguably as powerful as Anthony Joshua. Guys who have also destroyed Anthony Joshua. Cruiser weight knockout artists who have knocked out opponents, including heavyweights unconscious. And he's fought many of those guys backed to back, and is still yet to suffer a single knockdown.

So if you believe Usyk gets knocked out by the likes of Joshua, then you're disregarding / dismissing all the feats Usyk has shown so far as far as his durability is concerned, and you're also indirectly stating that Usyk has a glass, or at the very least, a very weak chin.

So with that thought, if the likes of Joshua fail to brutally KO this weak chinned Usyk in spectacular fashion, then you will be forced to admit that the likes of Anthony Joshua are not only feather fisted, but insane and otherworldly feather fists of astronomical proportions, so much so, that Joshua will have to question his manhood, and will have to destroy his hands, purely out of shame, disgrace and disgust, for failing to KO such a weak chinned Usyk.

But I wonder with you individuals, how can a total novice and a scrub in Joseph Parker go 12 rounds against Anthony Joshua, who is inferior to Usyk in every department, but Usyk is somehow stopped?

True but the only good heavies Toney faced were Peter, Ruiz and a shot Holyfield and even then his defence was so good he rarely got hit flush by big shots, Usyk will be facing heavies far superior in skill, size and power than Toney did and unlike JT he WILL be getting hit flush, if Toney Bellew had little trouble connecting then neither will the likes of AJ, Wilder etc.

What about Rahman(twice) and Lucas Browne. Also oquendo I believe.

He was incredibly fat against Peter and Rahman and got hit plenty by them

Everyone inquiring about Uysk's HW chin are in fact: hoping he will have issues, despite evidence to the contrary. Had no issues with MedZhidov's or Nistor's power in WSB, both of whom beat Joshua around the ring in the amateurs.

Good points and tbh I'd forgotten Toney fought Rahman but my original point still stands - the heavies Toney fought were smaller, older and less skilled than the heavies Usyk will be facing.

I think most were simply observing that Usyk gets hit quite a bit when the opponent fights back. Several commented, myself included, that it won't be a good idea to get hit like that at heavyweight.

But he's still yet to get dropped, much less KO'ed by any of those punches he's been hit by. Furthermore, he's also taken those punches from super heavyweights or heavyweights who are as big, and / or arguably punch as hard as the likes of Anthony Joshua.

Not to mention, scrubs like Joseph Parker get hit even more. Same with Carlos Takam. Those guys, prior to facing Joshua have been hit way more on average and Joshua still couldn't KO them. Usyk is literally superior to both in skills and probably in every department really.
