I feel Usyk has the height and style to do beter than Moorer did at heavy and would have beat Moorer had been a fighter in the 90`s and if both fighters fought at cruiser during that era Usyk would have beaten Moorer too despite Moorer showing devastating power at light heavy. Who was better between these two?

Moorer's LHW run was a lot of smoke and mirrors, with the dreadful opposition he faced in defence of his belt. He never competed at Cruiser and went straight up to HW, where he was very good against guys without murderous punching power.

That's why I have to lean towards him, as we haven't seen Usyk at HW yet. But a lot hangs on how Usyk transfers to heavy, and how natural Moorer actually was in the drugs riddled 90's.

I would love to see this fight. MM to me has always been a bit underrated because of his knockout losses to Foreman and Tua. The guy was a very good boxer in his prime that could absolutely crack. With all that said I believe Uysk is something really special and definitely has the ability to beat MM.

On another note, I do believe MM would have beaten any of the top LH (Maske, Hill) of his era had they fought and would have won the Cruiserweight belt as well. If he would have done those things he would be a shoe in for the hall of fame. Even without those accomplishments he might get in anyway as a three time heavyweight champ.

If my memory serves me correctly Michael Moorer never fought at Cruiserweight and jumped up to heavyweights from being the undefeated and unbeatable Light Heeayweight champion of the world. He had something like 22 KOs in 22 fights at Light Heavyweight. He was one dangerous dude who was just a naturally vicious guy. I always thought it was a pity he split with Emmanuel Steward and Kronk because even though he won the heavyweight world title etc for me he was not quite the same under different trainers and environment. He was made for the Kronk. Ditto Gerald McClellan

You know I don’t think Moorer’s Reign at Light Heavyweight was smoke and mirrors. The impression I had was that similar to Erroll Spence now probably worse the top Light Heayweights and champions rely wanted no part of the vicious punching Moorer.

Spence has a win over the then #1 at the weight, while Moorer makes even Wilder's defences pre Ortiz look like murderers row.
He was never the #1 at the weight, certainly not with a guy like Quicksilver in the mix at that time.

He might... Pretty sure Gassiev hits harder at Cruiser as Holy did though. But how does that effect anything about my statement?

What if Holyfield had stayed at cruiser and met Moorer if he stopped at cruiser before going up to heavy?

Spence is far more skilled at his weight than Moorer was at light heavy.

Moorer was only a WBO champ at light heavy, it wasn`t a respected belt back then because it wasn`t as established as the older federations, two of the other champs at that time in that division Hill and Williams were ranked above Moorer at that time by the ring magazine, Hill was even rated in the P4P top 10 ring magazine ratings.

The cruiserweight version of Holyfield was in my opinion the best cruisweight of all time. Not to take away from MM's win over Holyfield at heavyweight but Holyfield was definitely off that first fight. The heart stuff has been well documented but in addition to that Holyfield was super muscular in that fight in particular. He couldn't throw combinations in that fight like he did when he was less muscular. He was very lethargic in that fight. With all that said, I still think MM was a great fighter who at his best would be a handful for anyone.

Uysk would brain him. Moorer always dangerous. Moorer has very good speed and big power, but he was chinny. Uysk is not Chinny and he has different ways to win. his stamina in abundance, moorer is a live dog i rate him highly.

Usyk cracks that brittle chin of Moorer’s within 7-8 rounds for the stoppage. Moorer would have his moments here and there but Usyk is plenty durable enough to stand up to them.

I know for a fact that Moorer knocks out Joshua and Wilder.
