He does look like he could to be fair, but 175 is stacked, so why leave? Maybe he'll do & division back & forth like Mikey Garcia.

I'd much rather he fought the Alvarez Kovalev winner but he'd make a brilliant edition to 168.

    Serge laying down some perspective

I think Bivol is the best LHW right now & time will bear that out but come on..

He might be the most talented LHW but what if he's just not big enough for the division?

    Thanks.

People are overlooking that Bivol has only had 15 fights, has been fighting much tougher comp than all the other LHWs I mentioned in that post at the same stages of their respective careers, is giving up a significant of weight to the common opponents (fighters who give everyone problems including all of Bivols peers) he shares with the aforementioned fighters and is more a natural SMW than a LHW, and he doesn't possess the kind of savage punching power Kovalev, Stevenson, and Beterbiev do, which is hardly a knock on him as they're all arguably top 10 punchers P4P (they definitely are IMO). And Pascal is crazy tough and durable, and Chilemba is very tough and awkward. Both those guys have fought a ton of top LHWs and the only fighter to score a KD against either (at 175 for Chilemba) is the beastly punching Kovalev.

Yup. Again he continues to impress me, barely left 1st gear it looked like to me.. I think some people will hate if its anything other than a 1st round blitz! Job done, bring on Alvarez...

In fact i want to see a LHW WBSS!

as everyone predicted "Bivol will knockout a shot pascal early" "Bivol will knock shot pascal out late" I didn't think Pascal was shot just not nearly as good as he used to be with age. But, there was never a time I felt Bivol was close to knocking Pascal out. he didn't even make Pascal fade like. Dawson, Hopkins, Alvarez, Kovalev did. and those guys did it versus an older Pascal. I think Bivol could be the best at 175 but it would show that this era just doesn't stack up with previous years.

    That's a pretty fair assessment.

Didn't Bivol already beat Calum Smith in the amateurs?

    Yeah he did.

'In the semi-finals of a minor tournament in Hungary, Smith also boxed Dmitry Bivol, who has become a star light-heavyweight. “I boxed Bivol as well, who’s doing pretty well in the pros now. He’s managed to win a world title and he’s making some noise in the light-heavyweight division,” Callum said.

Then, in 2012, Bivol was just “some random Russian”. “I think I’d heard he’d done well in the World Youths,” Smith recalled. “I remember watching him thinking he’s a decent fighter. It was a good fight. I remember thinking there’s a lot of stuff he does well… I remember having a good first round and feeling I’d probably edged it.'

No it doesn't. Gonzalez wasn't that good. And that Pascal was already on the downslide after a severe beating from Kovalev his previous fight. You have no shame trying to hype Shabbranskky in order to indirectly try and back up your fanboyism of Gvodzyk. I'm not saying Gvodzyk is trash, he seems like a good young fighter. I'm saying that you are over rating him. I don't think he beats the smallish Bivol, and he's lucky that Stevenson is 41 with only has a four round gas tank now days.
