Jones is the sleaziest piece of **** to ever compete in the UFC. Busted for PED’s TWICE, crashed into a pregnant woman and ran through people’s backyards to get away, ratted out a former teammate... list goes on. And best UFC brawler goes to PRIME Chuck or Tank.
Rutten was a bit too measured to be considered a pure brawler. Liddell, Wanderlei and going back to the early days Abbott.
Wanderlai in Pride, yes. Not in the UFC. I’d give an honorable mention to Don Frye. That beast could trade!!
Jones isn't even in the ballpark for sleaziest with all the ******,woman bashers etc. that have fought and still fight in the UFC.
I don't really think of Jones as a brawler at all definitely not on the level of those listed here,even tho he was juiced to the gills I'd probably pick prime Wanderlai Silva who was a scary mother ****er in and out of the cage.
Yeah, “The Axe Murderer” is definitely near the top. His fight with Cung was the definition of slobberknocker
While Jones is a wild guy inside the cage, he also has exceptional grappling to back up the creative striking. There's more than a few people in the amateur wrestling community who will tell you that Jon Jones could have been an Olympic caliber wrestling in either freestyle or Grecco-Roman. That blurring of the lines freestyle head control and the trips, drops, and use of clinch and underhooks from Grecco is the core of his success, even more than his breath taking ground and pound or his ability to detect blood in the water.
Vanderlei in his PRIDE days was extremely hard to top for pure, over the top, wild swinging caveman punches and foot stomps.
