Coming from one who actively rooted AGAINST Whitaker all those years, yes.....it was far more a robbery than those other two.

Leonard Hearns 2 could well have been a draw so it's not really a robbery

same could be said for Hagler- Vito

Pernell - Chavez from where I sat, looked like a humiliation, Chavez totally powerless, & unable to score anything other than off of shoulders, gloves. Pernell just gave him nothing to hit

on the other side of the equation, Pernell scored plenty. I had it nine rounds Pernell, 2 to Chavez with one even

It's not the worst decision I've ever seen, but the outcry was mainly because of the magnitude of the event, and that Whitaker was denied the right to call himself the first man to officially beat Chavez.

Robbery? Depends. For me, Whitaker was a clear winner. The Jose Luis Ramirez fight genuinely was a robbery. I think a 4 point advantage for Whitaker is pretty fair.

I thought whittaker won but it was closer than most. Not the horrendous robbery it was painted as the time but Whittaker still clearly won more rounds than Chavez.

No kidding but Max has more than once said his flavor of the month (Jones, Whittaker, Mayweather, etc) never lost a round in their primes. Talk about a biased commentator. Max :smh Max's favorite fighters.

This literally made me laugh out loud.
Mods, why did you boot this guy? Yeah he's a smartass, but he more than covers the cost of his smartassery with legitimate cleverness.
Just my two cents, but I think it's the people who are simultaneously abrasive and obtuse who should be booted.

I just re-watched (most of) the fight yesterday and I think Whitaker won but not by nearly a wide enough margin to be commensurate to the outrage. Kind of like how you can pretty much tell at a glance that a 7'4" guy is clearly taller than 7'2"' guy but doesn't exactly dwarf him.

I scored it a draw, and felt like the commentary had a clear Whitaker bias. Did that affect the way people scored? You would have to ask them. I scored it on here years ago but have no clue what thread. But if somebody wants to post a scorecard thread I might go and rescore it just to see what I think years later.
