Maybe TBA will just be someone from the audience on the night. Have a little raffle, the winner faces Yarde plus gets photos ops with the new WBC champ Fury later on in the night.

Franks happy with where he is atm and it’s pretty clear too me that they’re waiting until the WBO becomes vacant or Alvarez/Kovalev show some serious signs of regress, hell then have him fight puddings for a few years before cashing him out in a big unification

I hear the TBA is having trouble getting the time off work. Take away delivery is very busy leading up to Xmas.

    Frank knows the game well.
Yarde atm is worth more undefeated even though he's fought cans. Yarde brings in a lot of exposure especially now he's got the Adidas deal.
Frank knows that putting yarde in with someone who has skills and experience is going to be high risk.
Yarde still has loads of questions that need answering but Frank is opting for the easy route with the big gamble at the end.

There’s so many holes in your argument, it could be Swiss cheese. I can’t be bothered to go through it though, as I will be marked as a Warren apologist.

TBA has 5 days to "prepare" before the fight.

Your average flight from Hungary to Los Angeles takes 35 hours with one change over, so lets call it 48 hours. So in truth, its only 3 days before fight time.

    The clock is ticking...

T.B.A should be replaced by T.B.A.Y

You could try to make a counter point. That tends to be how these things work.

I'm not bothered about anyone thinking you or I are apologists for anyone. If a promoter is doing a good job he should be lauded for it and if a promoter is doing a bad job it should be picked up and discussed in places like this. My position at the minute regarding Warren is a simple one; I don't think he's promoting his fighters very well, and I don't think he's been doing that for a long time. The biggest shift to have happened in British boxing over recent years is a clear incentive for fighters to continuously challenge themselves at a high standard. The days of fighters taking on endless WBO/WBU bums waiting for a big fight years and years down the line have gone, but Warren still seems to think that's how things operate. End result; fighters remain well under the radar whilst others end up in better fights earning more money and getting far more publicity.

Times have indeed moved on. Alphabet titles have been diluted further, and (as much as we don't like to admit it) fans are in a more educated position than they were previously. During Warren's heyday knowledge was limited to what was available in a restricted number of media outlets. He could line up Luciano Torres for Calzaghe to fight, and people would be interested as had a flashy record with a top 10 ranking, and there was no footage of him readily available to shed any light one way or the other. These days a quick boxrec would show that he'd barely beaten anyone with a winning record, photos would show he was podgy with the frame of a welterweight, and youtube clips would prove he wasn't actually any good.

With Yarde, the perception amongst boxing fans is that his opposition has been poor. The suspicion is that he is a hype job and his promotional team are hiding something. If he is the real deal, it's actually a detriment to the fighter to have that stigma attached to him at this stage.

I agree -- if he is the real deal he should be pushed on. I dont buy into the claim that nobody wants to fight him either. Great to be on a big card but not against a nobody at this stage in his career. A reasonable american name would have been good to actually give him profile there and get him noticed

He’s already been on a big card in America. The Canelo Smith undercard. What good did that do for him? He would have been better off on the 15th or 22nd show.

I think people put way too much emphasis, time and time again, on how good being on these big cards actually is.

There is literally no crowd apart from promoters and managers when these fights happen so early on major cards.

I didn’t realise Yarde was on the Smith Canelo card until a few months back. Watch it and he’s boxing in an empty football stadium. 80k Empty seats.

No wonder they have fights in the crowd at Warren shows, the doormen are usually fighting the likes of Yarde and Dubois in the ring.

I reckon Frank is going to order an uber eats to the ring and that will be Yarde's opponent
