Well I read last week that Mancini was among the most overrated on this forum so I clearly can not pick him. I read this week that Hatton is among the most overrated on this forum so I can clearly not pick him. If I pick a draw I will clearly be overrating one or both of them so I can clearly not pick that. This is quite the conundrum.
Seriously both styles will blend perfectly. Neither guy is going to want to concede an inch. Neither guy is a defensive wizard although I think Mancini has better head movement. I just think Hatton is the naturally larger and stronger guy and his punches will have the greater toll. Mancini was more of a lightweight, and didn’t really come up till Camacho (by the way I think Mancini won that fight.), I don’t think he is going to be able to handle Hattons power. Close for 4-5 rounds, rickey takes control in 6-8 and stops boom boom in the 9th or 10th
Should I be insulted? If that is the best you can come up with kid I feel sorry for you. My point stands Rocky Marciano and Jack Dempsey are the 2 most overrated guys on this forum. Ray Mancini isn't even close because most people know he wasn't that good.
It's debatable who the most overrated guy on Classic is. The most overrated guy on the general forum is by faarrrrrr Loma.
I predict a chess match between these two defensive geniuses... Or a barnstorming brawl that Hatton edges only because he is the naturally bigger man.
Mancini all the way . hatton lost only to the best- he got CRUSHED by the best . Arguello had hell with Mancini and Arguello would have stopped Hatton inside 7 . hatton beat a KT who hadnt fought in 2 years almost- who else did he beat at jr welter? Mancini is very underrated. I too thought he beat Camacho.
Valid points, but I think Hatton being the stronger of the two would be a problem for Ray. Not only the stronger of the two, Hatton was also quicker/more athletic than Mancini with better footwork. I do agree that Arguello would KO Hatton. As open as Ricky was, once Alexis found the range on that right hand, it would get ugly for Hatton.
Zoo was better at 140 than Arguello, and Hatton didn't lose to him. Hatton would enter the ring at 155 and mow Mancini down; Mancini was a 5'4 lightweight. Pretty easy pick.
First he is booted (yay) 2nd he was never rated highly to begin with. He had a very short and lackluster peak indeed
