LOL that mother looks terrified. A giant englishman with a gangster voice looking for a Deontay Wilder was not how she pictured her morning going.

That’s because Wilder is so deluded he believes he doesn’t need to promote the fight. I think he genuinely believes he is some sort of worldwide superstar & this will do 2.5 million on PPV. The guy needs help.

I understand what you're saying my friend and I wouldn't throw you in the Wilder group anyway, you are obviously intelligent and sensible, so that disqualifies you immediately.

Depends on what why you look at it, Wilder holds 25% of what AJ wants (all the belts)

Joseph Parker had 25% also, he was sensible and got paid very well for the opportunity to win another two belts and be regarded as number 1 in the division.

Wilder was offered 15 million and called it "peasant money" so let's hope he is earning far more than that Saturday night or he has questions to answer and so do his fans who agreed with him.

And of course Team Wilder should drive a hard bargain, I have no problem with that but there is a fine line between driving a hard bargain and pricing yourself out, Wilder right now is pricing himself out.

The problem he has is, to get paid what he wants he has to do a very big PPV this weekend and show he is a draw.

He can ask for all sorts of crazy amounts but those crazy amounts have to come from somewhere, PPV sales, Ticket sales, advertising, TV money and Wilder isn't generating much so who is going to pay him what he considers not to be "peasant money".

Wilder after this weekend, win, lose or draw will have to lower his demands, he has no legitimate claim to being a draw right now and being worth more than what he has already been offered.

Or it could be he’s from Alabama and LA is a completely different dwelling altogether, one that he’s not comfortable in. Also it’s important to take into consideration the possibility that DW is entirely focused on fight night and traded in his promo time for more light training.

Any street, in any country, anywhere in the world. Swedes love Fury. In fact, he has more Swedish fans than Donkey has American ones.

    You make good points here.

But unfortunately for AJ and Hearn, an item is worth what the owner is prepared to sell it for.

25% is logical, but business doesnt work along those lines. If I owned a car that's worth 20k, but I knew someone really really really wanted my car and could never purchase it from anywhere else, I wouldn't sell it them for 20k because I know I could get more.

Same thing goes for how many PPV's Wilder brings.

Wilder knows AJ wants the belt so he's holding out. You say pricing himself out but if he beats Fury I bet he gets close to what he wants.

Of course the risk is he loses the belt before he ever cashed out. In which case I imagine a lot of laughter.

When you have so few things to take pride in, you cling to anything you can, of course Brits know Fury.

Yet again, to compare the tiny pond that is the UK to being known in the US...specifically Hollywood/LA demonstrates a general disconnection from reality. Here's the deal...if you know Fury, you know AJ, you know Wilder. Please explain to me how you would be a fan of boxing or one of these fighters and not know the others? Not one of those people who didn't know Wilder, would know Fury or AJ either. These people on the streets of the UK who love AJ, they know Wilder...they know Fury.

The Brits (in my experience) tend to view every circumstance and situation as if it were their own experience. Meaning they can't grasp the point you're making because they (generally) have no clue how the world outside the UK works. They try to process American culture through an English filter, and this is what you get. It's not an insult, many small town people in the States have the same issue (I'm a small town guy), but I recognize it and don't try and speak intelligently about the city and it's respective affairs.

Wilder is going to beat up Fury while screaming "What's my name! What's my name!"

Theres only 2 heavyweights that the world recognizes and that is Ali and Mike Tyson. Wilder's name is unique, but very hard to bond with.

My sister lives is Tuscaloosa and asked me about the fight. She does not follow boxing on any level but came across a populous down there that does know him and talks about him. Not sure how widespread the awareness of him is there, but it is good enough that a non boxing fan sees and hears about him.

Edit: to paraphrase she asked me if I knew Mike Tyson was fighting Wilder lol

Insinuates the Brits are narrow minded by exposing his own narrow mindedness LOL
The UK is four separate nations so it's an ignorant comment to suggest they view the world through an 'English' filter! All People are INDIVIDUALS too, sweeping generalizations about them as a whole is as cliché as it gets! For one individual to presume to know how a whole people 'the Brits' think (especially as a non Brit) whilst at the same time having the audacity to insinuate they are narrow minded (in light of what I've just said!) is actually laughable & as arrogant as it gets! Even worse you compare them to 'small town American people..' You use yourself, a small town American as a reference point to compare whilst accusing us of being narrow minded & unable to see other viewpoints

In YOUR experience, OK. But I bet you've never even been to the UK & have no social circle that you could form a balanced viewpoint from. The internet? Ye right.. Gauging **** off of this under the microcosm of a sports forum forms your world view?! Riiiiggght... We aren't all toothless hicks over here you know, worshipping 'our queen' ploughing our furrows.. As s Brit I can put your mind at ease, I do know how the world operates outside the UK & wouldn't presume to generalize about fat, gun toting, passport shirking Americans.. OOPs! Damn my teeth new brushing..
