Especially post exile. After reading Ali's book over the past couple days, Ali (imo) did not carry himself like a champion, Let alone like a professional fighter. Ali had very questionable training habits, Especially for the first Frazier & Norton fights. And in my opinion, (Excluding his draft dodge, which I commend greatly) Floyd is a better representation of what a boxer should be in & out if the ring ( Excluding his allegations of domestic violence)

The fact you acknowledge floyds domestic abuse issues and then claim he represented boxing well outside the ring better than all indicates you either dont know much about Ali, you're a troll, or you're an idiot.

The only valid point you made was that Ali after his layoff was often lazy in training camp and to Floyd's credit, he is always in shape and takes every opponent seriously.

If we don't take quality of opposition into the equation perhaps.

Berto and McGregor would give Ali nightmares! Ali could have fought a debut fighter from another discipline for his last fight but instead he played it safe and fought some boxer who would have predictable moves!! Floyd is truly amazing!!!

I know. That is why Floyd has problems with his all time ranking. He came up in a weak time. He was a master at knowing when to fight guys.

Both great fighters, and I even think there's a case for ranking Floyd higher P4P, but no way was he a better representative of the sport.

To quote Ricky Hatton on Mayweather: "If he's better than Ali my dick's bigger than Ron Jeremy's!

I'm a big Ali fan, but won't dismiss this one out of hand.

Personally, I think they are a bit hard to compare since Floyd never throughly dominated a single division like Ali did in especially the 60's.

But yes Floyd was always well prepared and he gave rematches where they were merited (Castillo, Maidana), while Ali didn't towards the end of his career (Young, Norton and you could make a case for Foreman). In that sense he was a better champion.

Ali on the other hand didn't demand catch weights in title fights (which of course would be a bit tough at HW) and he faced many more ranked fighters.

So it is what you make of that.

Muhammad Ali had the greatest inquisitors to his crown of any heavyweight ever. All in their prime. To even compare cherry picking Floyd to the great Ali is a joke. Ditto to compared Floyd to Duran, Benny Leonard, Robinson, Greb, Walker, Pep, Saddler, Berg, Welsh, Langford, Monzon, Gomez, Ross Even Pacqiuioa

Carlos Monzon, Mike Tyson, and Edwin Valero were a better representation of what a boxer should be in & out if the ring (Excluding every single thing in their lives outside the ring).
