I recall he was begging for money to pay off his house mortgage a while back, he was close to being evicted. I hope that is all worked out and I assume he (and the other ex-champs) were paid for their appearance yesterday.

Lewis had a contract to fight the holyfield Bowe winner for 30% cut, Bowe didnt honour that and instead offered Lewis 10%. Maloney said no but Lewis would of taken it. Maloney offered to take 5% less than the previously agreed 30% which would be the mandated minimum of 25%, yet they offered 10% only! Remember, Going into the 2 fights, Lewis was number one, Ruddock number 2 and Bowe number 3 yet it was Bowe that got the first shot!

    All hogwash.
Firstly Lewis was not #1. How was he #1 in 1991 when his best win was Brit level Gary Mason? At the time of those fights Bowe and Roddock were top 5 and Lewis was ranked #9. The previous years he was not ranked in the top 10.

Got a source that proves Lewis had it in his contract that he was to get a 30% cut of the purse? You made that up because Lewis had no contract in place to fight the winner. The contracts were being negotiated later after Bowe became the champ.

Multiple different offers were floated around , one of them was 10% suggested by Newman if the fight surpassed the 32M estimated by HBO. A 10% cut would have earned Lewis more than the 3M Bowe earned against Holyfield.
Maloney called it absurd. 4-5M for a crack at the undisputed title while being a relative unknown in the US= absurd.
But that was just a brief talking point in the negotiation tactics , the fight was nowhere near big enough to bring in more money than Bowe vs Holyfield.

The real offer was Lewis to get a two fight deal , one for 3M and the second for a 15M rematch if he beat Bowe.
    That offer was rejected.
Lewis was rejecting offers , low balling and making demands to the champ as the challenger. Bowe fought Holyfield without making any demands because he was serious about fighting the champ.
Lewis was not ready to fight Bowe and he knew it which is why he turned down offers. If he was serious , he would have taken his fair and honest mandatory split.

Never had that much regard for Bowe for both in and out of the ring reasons. Now he just seems too pathetic to give him a hard time. He's punchy, he's blown all his money and is reduced to calling out a 50 year old Lewis for some kind of veterans grudge match. He had his chance 25 years ago.

As to who was ducking who, considering Bowe's first two title defences were against the completely washed up 34 year old Michael Dokes followed by fringe journeyman Jesse Ferguson (who was so lowly regarded the IBF wouldn't even sanction it), it's pretty clear who was looking for soft touches.

Sad but true. In his current condition, Lewis wouldn't even hire Bowe to mow his front lawn and cut the hedges. Bowe looks so terrible he could collapse any second.

Ok checked back, Lewis was number 2 and Ruddock was number 1, Bowe was number 3.

And at 56:56 Holyfield confirms that if he wins against Bowe he will honour the contract to fight Lewis next. Bowe didn't.

Bowe was the undisputed champion of the world when Lewis fought Ruddock in 1992. How DF could he be number 3?

They should let go of the animosity. Lennox is acting a bit arrogant there with that smile. Lennox is great and knows his legacy is much stronger than Bowe's.

The story says he was #1 with the WBC. Thats not the same as a world ranking. Lewis was ranked #9 in the world , Bowe was ranked #3.
