Duran from his 1983 challenge of Hagler Verse Minter who stopped Antuofermo at Wembley? Classic 15 round s of course
Another vote for Minter here. Its a shame he gets remembered as a lame duck champion who handed the title over to Hagler, because Minter was talented, game, and smart enough to get out of the sport at more or less the right time. If he'd fought after the proliferation of the alphabet titles, Minter probably would have accumulated 10/12 title defenses before cashing out with a unification superfight. Instead, he fought when there was really only 1 title. He earned that title by twice beating the reigning champ after putting together a strong pre-title resume. That's good stuff.
I think Duran of the Barkely fight would take Minter, I'd even go with the haggler version, Although I reaallly liked Minter, very good boxer
Duran showed he was far smarter than Minter when he fought Hagler, Minter has said even if her tried to box Hagler he would have been beat, he used the jab a lot v Vito but Duran was expert at slipping the jab, Minter never fought a fighter with the defensive skills of Duran apart from Hagler, and he could only hit Marvin a lot by going to war, Duran would have destroyed Minter on the inside.
We all have our own opinions, however if you watch Minter Vs Antuofermo I...I am pretty sure he could survive (and imo thrive) with Durans body assault at this weight.
