I am a Fury supporter far more than a Wilder supporter. But even though Fury is a far better boxer I have to admit that Wilder looked truly DANGEROUS all night. And he stuck with Fury - threatened him - did a much better job than Wlad. Nobody was surprised at those knock-downs. Wilder always looked capable of that. I think he has improved. Throwing more straight shots instead of looping. Looking more contained than he used to. A bit more balance. He is no Ali but I think he is more dangerous now than ever. BOTH hands have power. Looking forward to the rematch. -Kiwi.
Good post (better than most of the fanboy/hater drivel on here...this is refreshing)! I am not a fan of either guy and left with respect and appreciation for both of them. I find it humorous that thier fans are so disrespectful of the other guy yet both fighters have respect for each other afterwards, and it was evident by the measured way they fought each other. I tip my hat to both guys and hope we get part 2
I was rooting for Fury, and he won the fight for me, but I gotta say after all the pre-fight and post-fight stuff, I came away thinking Deontay is actually a really likeable guy. I mean I know he said that stupid thing about wanting a coffin or something on his record on twitter a while back, but let's face it, if we held every stupid thing a boxer has ever said against them, there would hardly be anyone left to like!
Wilder did well, even though he got outboxed, he boxed fairly well and for the first time In his career he didn't use any really wild punches or windmills.
He didn't do too bad at all considering he was outweighed by 40lbs. Would be good to see if a different trainer can improve his boxing.
I can't see how Wilder was impressive, Fury was inactive for two and a half years, abused himself with alcohol, food and drugs, was banned for PED's and then came back and fought Seferi and Pianeta and then went and did that to Wilder in his own backyard.
Can't wait to see you Matchroom FC fans weaseling out of the excuses Hearn makes for avoiding Fury like the plague over the coming months.
Surely there will be a rematch between Wilder Vs Fury? So how is Hearn going to "avoid" Fury? I don't see how Wilder or Fury have anything to do with AJ until the end of next year at the earliest now. AJ will fight Fury, they already offered him a route to a fight but Fury went with FW and chose Wilder. The only weaselling we will see in the coming months will be Wilder and Finkel trying to avoid a rematch.
He's alright and gets a lot of stick. I've been guilty of slagging him off but just for a laugh I don't dislike him at all.
Really? Because for me it was the opposite. Wilder's ring IQ looked like that of a goldfish. Yeah Wilder dropped him, but we all know his power (and it's not like Fury is granite chinned) so nothing really surprising about that.
Haha Wilder fans are just really confused, they don't know how to spin it, they were also saying for weeks that Fury was fat, too inactive, he can't take a punch (Cunningham), had ruined himself outside the ring and then Fury goes over there and let's be real here.. beats Wilder. They can't wrap their heads around it, they are now not really sure what Wilder is, Wilder had every advantage and still needed a gift. They are trying to forget and make people like me forget the crap they were talking just two weeks ago.
