No. Just checked and I'm still not a ****** pimp. In fact, I have no criminal record. Pretty sure that makes me better than him.

Stevenson would have fired his entire team had they done that.

I love that served his time nonsense, as if you could possibly do enough time for the things he did. Ask his victims if he's served enough time. And turned his life around? He's not running a school for under privileged children. He's beating other men for money.

It doesn't really matter whether or not you think Stevenson deserves his current situation. The fact is, a death in the sport is not good news and will just be used by anti-boxing activists as another reason why it should be banned. It's ironic because those same people campaign against exactly what Stevenson did in his past, but we don't need that smoke. The fact is almost every sport is dangerous and statistically causes deaths, but boxing has that extra edge because jarring your opponent's brain to the point where he's unconscious or has his senses so scrambled he is unable to continue is its purpose. There's no getting away from that.

No matter how we feel about it, we should hope for Stevenson's recovery. Boxing should not be the medium for any retribution he "deserves". Go ahead and wish that his past catches up with him through some other means if you wish.

Indeed, fighting in Canada can be very bad for your long term health. Come to sunny Las Vegas, Nevada where insurance prices are reasonable and an elite crew of medical professionals are never more than a few feet away. Don't "gamble" with your life.

Look, you can be soft on guys that **** young women or girls all you want! I'm of the opinion that anyone that preys on the weak (elderly, mentally challenged, young) should be executed on sight! So his little prison stint isn't justice to me! If he ends up a drooling, mumbling vegitable, so be it! I'll not shed a tear or loose one moments sleep over his condition.

Or go to New York, where fighters have to take cabs to go to the hospital after suffering grievous injury. An ambulance and medical professionals were on hand once Stevenson began to manifest injury symptoms after the fight.

Yup. In a sick and depraved culture the emphasis is always on the criminal and some bullish!t “redemption” narrative. Never any emphasis on the victims and their families and what they’ve suffered.

He did his time. Your opinion on what his punishment should have been is irrelevant.

irrelevant to a forum set up to exchange opinions... or did you think someone believed his opinion was going to add time to pimps sentence?

I've seen people here share this same sentiment numerous times. Gets old. He made poor choices as an adolescent and went to prison at 20 years old. He did his time. And yet there's an abundance of clearly upstanding citizens rehashing what he did over 20 years ago. The guy could die and meanwhile idiots are propagating hate.

It was the last punch, literally, which done the (critical) damage, most probably. And it came in a series of punches. Yes, the referee could have stopped the fight one punch earlier, but I guess he knew who would have won by the scorecards, so he didn't want to strip Stevenson of his championship...
