I find the whole 'Joshua needs to grow a pair/step up' debate so deeply boring. He's had 22 fights, beaten an all time great plus several other world champions/contenders and has 'stepped up' faster than the vast majority of boxers. It took Wilder forty fights to step up.
He might need to force his way in to a mandatory to get the rematch. Ortiz v Fury is a real possibility IMO.
joshua will never be considered no.1 in the division by anyone now until he fights fury. his ego surely wont be able to handle that
Yeah, he could get away with someone lower but they'd have to be top 10 surely. Again though, not many will be available annoyingly
Fury beat the ATG before him with ease, Joshua went life and death and almost got beat. Fury stepped up against Wilder despite his lack of activity and his problems and should be the New WBC champion right now... When Joshua steps up and fights a live one come back and let me know.
AJ v Whyte hold no interest for me at all, AJ will just destroy him again. How many times does a fighter a level below the fighter that beat him by KO come back and win? if that makes sense. you would hope the wilder fury fight would inspire another match up with the top three, these are genuinely interesting fights that have to be made.
I'm just hoping Fury didn't blow his load Saturday. It happened against Wlad, fought a brilliant fight and lost all interest. I hope that doesn't happen here because in his mind he beat Wilder and achieved his goal of a great comeback. Hopefully he has the desire to stay in shape and keep going....
AJ is now getting slated on social media which in my opinion is totally unfair. He has fought the top heavyweights excluding Fury Wilder in the last 4 or 5 fights which is a lot more than Wilder has done. People going on about AJ must fight Fury or Wilder next but it takes 2 to arrange a fight. Fury won't happen because Hearn and Warren just don't do business together. Wilder also won't happen because he doesn't want anything to do with AJ and just prices himself out of a fight. Who else can AJ fight? The next best is Whyte but he will get slated for it even if he can't do anything else about it. People want to see the big fights but clearly this is not going to happen anytime soon.
Yeah you're right. Joseph Parker might be a possibility. He's well known in UK, he's good, he's young. He's set to fight next week I think, so he'll be ready I guess.
That really could be a problem now as Fury is a massive hit with the American boxing fans and has a higher profile over there than Joshua who is the darling of the casuals over here....Fury is now an equal to Joshua in any split of the purse.
Only interest in Joshua facing Wilder or Fury next. I used to want to see the Whyte rematch but enough is enough. There's 3 HW's at the top of the tree and the fans want to know who's the best. In an ideal world those 3 can fights eachother a couple of times each.
That's the thing, social media has in no small part contributed to the meteoric rise of Hearn and Joshua but conversely, it can go the other way with almost the same velocity. I've been saying for months that the casuals are turning, it started when the Wilder Fury fight was confirmed. If you think it's bad now, wait until Fury starts calling him out publically, which he will. Eddie is going to get absolutely torn to shreds if he tries any of that "muh contract" nonsense again and citing nobodies like Pulev and Miller or bull**** mandatory "obligations". The dynamics of the HW scene here have completely changed. AJ isn't the "A-side" whatever the **** that means anymore, the public is interested in Fury and have bought into him bigtime. The days of fighting recycled past victims and also-rans are gone if MR want to remain seen as relevant and above board at HW.
