In the history of boxing, did any challenger get dropped 2X and win a belt?

I'm still waiting for an example of a challenger who had no belts getting dropped 2x and taking the belt from the champ.

Im not defending wilder, I know there are examples of champions like joe louis, wladmir klitschko or Patterson getting dropped and getting the benefit of the doubt. In louis' fight with walcott for example many thought walcott got robbed. But the wilder fight is the opposite, he was trailing on the score cards winning maybe 3 rounds tops and pulled 2 kds out his ass. I don't thibk thats ever been done (challenger winning) and maybe boxing needs more regulations so champions arent automatically given the benefit.

In historical context, a draw for this fight isnt that crazy but i get y people are upset.

only one I can muster is kendall holt knocking out Ricardo Torres

the op did say separate rounds and I assume the example has to be a decision

    Nigel Benn comes to mind

Almost every ATG has gotten off the canvas to go on and win ONCE, it's also happened alot in non title bouts, and the CHAMP has gotten up 2 times and went on to win sometimes

Fury would have barely squeezed by with a SD even without the knockdown in the 12th. the draw was bad but a wide win for Wilder is unacceptable. That judge is AB tier and should never judge a big fight ever again.

You're mixing up the first and second fights. In the first fight Peter dropped Wlad three times and was never dropped himself. In the rematch Peter's durability was long gone and he got easily destroyed.

I stand corrected. Thank you. Further research showed that the first fight was an elimination fight and that neither Klitschko or Peter was a champ so the question still remains.

It’s happened lots of times I’m sure.

Further to the fights already mentioned.

Corrales vs Castillo, Bradley vs Provodnikov, Maidana vs Ortiz, Naz vs Kelley, Kalambay vs Graham, Hearns vs Andries....

I also believe Jack Dempsey and Archie Moore were involved in fights they won after being knocked down multiple times.

None of Floyd Patterson's title fights went the distance - except the Jimmy Ellis fight.

I think the question is has any challenger been dropped twice and won the title VIA DECISION.

Which fights did the challenger win a belt VIA DECISION after he'd been floored twice by the defending champ?

Practically all the fights you named were ko wins, not decision wins.

I don't think it really ever happens.

Didn't Leonard also knockdown Hearns once in that fight?

Hearns was out on his feet at the final bell.

The difference in that fight is Hearns seemed to win most of the rounds AND he scored the two knockdowns.

Fury didn't floor Wilder twice and appear to win most of the rounds, only to get hurt at the end.

Fury was the one who was dropped twice.

You are right. I remember Hearns being hurt a couple of times but Leonard never dropped him.
