I'd love to see this fight. Gvozdyk wins hands down. It is really between him, Beterbiev and Bivol, with Alvarez at #4.

Yeah, don't get me wrong - I'm totally glad you called him/us out to correct it. We all do aim for verisimilitude!

On that note, though, and to my earlier point, do you have any idea why Gvozdyk rarely ever gets listed by his full name (including the patronymic) whereas most other guys from the former USSR bloc do? Are some people embarrassed about or annoyed by them or something? Or am I reading too much into what is really just a coincidence...that searching for, say, Bivol's name in Cyrillic turns up what transliterates into "Dmitry Yurievich Bivol" ...whereas 99.99999999999% of mentions of Gvozdyk in any language simply label him "Oleksandr Gvozdyk", without the Sergiyovich? I'm sure Chuck and Serge and CST and I would have been in the habit of using his full name by now were it actually listed anywhere ..but strangely you hardly ever see it.

(although even as I type all that, I'm looking in another browser tab and I'm shamed to say that right on his wikipedia.ru page it does in fact say "Алекса́ндр Сергеевич Гвоздик". I usually do check those pages, so I know better ...I for one then was definitely remiss in my research before making threads about the Nail...)

This. I’ve learned my lesson with Jack. Anytime he steps up I assuming a draw.

Of course all his family and paisanos called him Dom; it was the gringos (mainly Irish meatheads) that couldn't deal with his real name. This was in NYC. And Dom wasn't a salt of the earth type guy....he was a violent man that you didn't want to get on the bad side of .

The other Al (Fortunato) worked in a factory in Wilmington Delaware amongst all Anglos.

I'd completely forgotten his middle name, but I went back and checked, and I used it on my Educate Yourselves thread on him, after I did some deep investigation on some Ukrainian sites IIRC. But the fact that he never uses it and its not listed on Boxrec or Wikipedia, it completely vanished from my memory. Otherwise, like you said in your above post, I'd have used it far more often.

Since Gvozdyk doesn't need to be as wary of Jack's power so much as Stevenson's, and because it's a better style match-up for him, he'll be more aggressive and win earlier by KO/TKO, rounds 5 to 7.

Jack seems about as confident in beating Gvozdyk as Adonis looked inbetween rounds during his hiding. Jack looked absolutely demoralized.

I picked up on that too but I thought it might also just have been a fighter's pride kicking in what with Gvozdyk having done what he couldn't do to Adonis. He definitely looked a bit uncomfortable there though and my initial hunch was in accordance with your own.

This. I want to see Bivol vs Gvozdyk it's nice to see a pro-EE poster finally call for this fight. It's like EE fans don't want their top guys to fight each other.

I want to see him fight Bivol and Beterbiev, he beats both, the latter violently.

I think Beterbiev beats them all.

He barely beat Callum Johnson, who was literally charging his ass the entire night, Gvozdyk vs Beterbiev will look like Gvozdyk vs. Gonzalez. Gvozdyk would look like Pretty Boy Floyd against Artur.
