I don't hate Wlad at all. I rooted for him all the way through the mid 00's and he was my favorite fighter, up until and including the Pulev fight. I thought he should have retired on the Pulev result, as I'm also a fan of Pulev and considered that victory the highlight of Wlad's later career. Jennings, Fury and Joshua were 3 fights too far for Wlad. His reflexes were not what they were and he was far too conservative. That he gave Joshua such a good fight says far more about Joshua than it does Wlad or Fury.

so given that, man i dont see how u think wlad wouldnt have taken him. i see the 12th round as the only round that wlad seemed to give a ****...and wlad dang near ko'd him. i was screaming for him to retire after jennings so he could keep his legacy a bit more intact. not that a decade of dominance is vulnerable to legacy attacks. but yeah. i think wlad would get aggressive earlier, cut the ring off, and land his shots.

wlad fought MANY taller fighters in his career. he doesnt need to punch downhill to punch with power.

I went to wlad vs mercer, vitali vs lewis, wlad vs peter, vitali vs johnson, wlad vs iggy, wlad vs jennings, fury vs wilder .
Bunch of cotto and judah fights too. Also a few hours ago today we met Fury with a few of his friends, or relitives ,on rodeo drive. He just looks scratched up a bit , nothing major. He is def not 6’9 , no way he is 6’9.

Yeah I would say 6’7 max , he does not look big or athletic at all , narrow shoulders . My girl is 6’1 and on high heels she didn’t look that much shorted than him. I thought he was same height as I am ,but she says he is a bit taller. So I think he’s like 6’7.
Pac was always nice to watch , I went to pac vs hatton, but fight at cowboys stadium should be a totally different experience .

Fury isn't 6'9". He's about 6'7.5" which in shoes make him about the 6'8.75" that he claimed all the way through his early career. Rounded up, it's 6'9" of course. Nearly every boxer exaggerates their height, from minimum weight through heavyweight. Look at the latest face-off pictures between Dereck Chisora (who claims 6'1") and Dillian Whyte (who claims 6'4"). They're the same height. Canelo is nowhere near his claimed height of 5'9", he was shorter than Mayweather who is 5'7.5" at best. Golovkin towered Canelo, yet Golovkin claims 5'10" but is probably more like 5'9.5".

Deontay Wilder is fairly honest about his height. He originally claimed 6'6.5" and it seems to have been rounded up to 6'7" by news agencies, including television networks. They prefer to work in whole numbers. Fury is not two inches taller than Wilder, it's about an inch.

Dude , atlantic city is more than 2 hours away from NYC, it’s las vegas of east coast, so when you go there to watch the fight you also gamble and drink and have to spend the night there , so I use to always make sure to get the room with one king bed . You would have to be gay not to close the deal with a girl that you bring to AC from NYC.

I admire your modesty and honesty. You could have spun a truly epic dit there involving coke, hookers and lesbianism on a half-remembered night 15 years ago. But you didn't, kept it real. Good effort that man.

No man I am a pretty boring guy in general, I have never tried weed , or coke in my life. I use to take girls to AC pretty often, but never had a party involving anything heavier than alcohol . I took a girl to LA with me to watch Wilder vs Fury and we’ll leave to Joshua tree park tomorrow and after Joshua to Vegas.

Jhee, fair enough, each to their own opinion. I personally wouldn't give any of those much of a shot against Fury or AJ other than Povetkin in his prime

its that tricky question of 'was one guy that good, or was his opposition that bad'. I personally don't believe that Wlad was in some horrible era that only just happened to amazingly coincidentally end right as he started to fade because of age. Wlad just made it look easy for a long time.

I think it was both, personally. Wlad is a top 5 all time heavyweight in my opinion but I don't rate many of his opponents so highly. Fury and Joshua are actually his best two opponents but unfortunately they weren't around until he was beyond his peak

thats fair. i think there were a few that are on that level, but certainly not many. but thats every long standing hw's problem. there arent 15 amazing guys waiting to fight them. usually, if they are lucky, only a few.
