I think Fury has turned a corner big time popularity wise. The lay off done his popularity wonders. People are funny, they don't realise what they've got til it's gone. Selling out an arena v Seferi and almost one million people watching his comeback fight on BT is proof of that. We know he then had a tune up with Pianeta for Wilder on Frampton's undercard. In the build up to the Wilder fight he absolutely cracked the states. His interview with Joe Rogan is already regarded as one of the best ever. The mental health stuff isn't for me but people are gobbling that up. Again, his openess about it has done wonders for his popularity. Then we have the Wilder fight. Apart from the dodgy decision, it couldn't have went better. The whole boxing world and beyond are still talking about it. Both the fight and Fury's attitude afterwards have again pushed his popularity to new heights. That's in the UK and US. Fury is now undeniably bigger than Joshua in the US. AJ is bigger in the UK obviously. However, I think Fury now handily fills any UK stadium for a Wilder rematch and any indoor arena for any other opponent. The UK now has two massive heavyweight stars. Both in and around their prime, both unbeaten and both believing they're no.1. That fight does numbers in the UK that have never been seen, and never will be seen again.
wilder needs to come to the uk and give fury a rematch if he wants to duck fury then fight joshua in the uk if he wants to duck both then fight whyte in the US joshua vs whyte only make sense if wilder gives fury the rematch which he should
It will be interesting to see the PPV figures for this fight, both in the US and UK. I'm not really sure Fury is a major star on both sides of the Atlantic that some are claiming now. His profile has been boosted without question, but Joshua is still a huge name and definitely has a lot more clout at the box office. People talk about him staying at home and being protected. Which of his fights so far should have been abroad?
I think the PPV has done better than expected. Apparently there was a huge amount of google searches for the fight, which usually means a good buyrate.
Who’s quacking now. Let’s not forget Eddie told us weeks ago that they wanted Wilder win or lose and they had until the 22nd to thrash out a deal. I think it could be on..,
I think AJ will fight Usyk in April if Whyte doesn't convince vs Chisora, which I expect he wont. Wilder and Fury will have a rematch first I'm sure
I agree but presumably AJ 's team will fancy one more than the other, so doing the fights in that order would be sensible. I can see both of them beating AJ, though on Saturday's performances if I was AJ I'd go for Wilder first as Fury is so hard to hit and durability is still a question for AJ I think.
I'd rather see fury beat wilder in the U.K. First then give Joshua the biggest boxing lesson off his life
Hearn adored Bellew who got KTFO by Usyk. Usyk needs a couple of fights at heavy before challenging. Hearn will continue to protect his golden goose by offering Usyk the AJ fight in April.
