Would a prime Mike Tyson lose to any of the current top heavyweights?

Mike had a harder punch than Fury has, bigger biceps than Wilder has and through the same counter hooks that Povetkin was able to catch AJ with so I feel he would have done well v these massive heavies, am I being over simplistic?

    Quote from Quora:
Rooney maximized his gifts, and minimized his shortcomings by having him use a bob and weave to set up mid-range, and bomb away. When Rooney departed, (thank you Don King!), Mike abandoned the bob and weave, and simply rushed forward, firing away.

That exposed his limitations. A great in-fighter, (Evander Holyfield) could tie him up, and beat him up on the inside. A great boxer, (Lennox Lewis) could keep him at bay with a ramrod left, and measure him for power shots taken at a distance, away from where Mike was unable to fire back.

Mike was never as good as he seemed in his early days. He simply had not run into a fighter who was not afraid of him, and had the physical size and strength, or size and speed, to deal with him. Once Rooney left, his style devolved and he was not a particularly gifted fighter beyond headshoting.

Today's fighters are not a particularly impressive lot. No one who understand boxing at all considers Wilder, Fury or Joshua anything more than average - if that - heavyweights compared to other eras. In Joe Louis's era they would have been in his bum of the month club! When I read someone claiming that Joshua, Wilder, or Fury, is a great fighter I immediately know he understands nothing about boxing at all.

Wilder has rare and real power, but no boxing skills. Fury is huge, mobile, and can box, but cannot punch his way through a paper towel. Joshua is stiff, not particularly fast, and doesn't have the best set of whiskers.

But against Tyson, Joshua would have the best chance. He has power enough to stop a later Tyson from rushing in, coupled with a huge reach and size advantage. (The early Rooney-coached Tyson would have bobbed and weaved, timed and avoided the slower Joshua punches, and knocked him out) Early prime Tyson puts Joshua to sleep, later Tyson is in trouble.

Wilder would either knock later Tyson out as he rushed in, or be knocked out if Tyson got in range. If he had any boxing skills, that long, vicious jab could batter Tyson badly, but he lacks consistency with it. Early Tyson would eat his lunch, though again, someone with Wilder's power always has a punchers chance.
Fury simply does not have the power to keep Tyson off of him, though he might be able to use his huge size, (a foot taller! 15 inch reach advantage!), to tie him up and hold on until Tyson gassed out, which he did by the 6th round or so. If only Fury had any power...

One thing is for certain: Fury would not be clowning around with Mike Tyson trying to tear his head off!

I disagree with the Quora user saying today`s heavies aren`t impressive, I feel Fury is something special and him v Mike would have been a classic.

Fury is below the level currently of those titlists that Tyson unified against. He gets chopped down fast.

lol! Berbick didn`t use the defensive skills that Fury used against Wilder at a safe range, Fury`s reach is far better than Berbicks was who hardly threw a jab at Mike, he was awful that day, just stood in front of Mike, Fury would use great movement v Mike. Tucker was by far the best of the three titlist that Tuyson beat but Fury can do everything that Tucker did in his bout v Mike plus his ability to recover from shots would make him resilient too Tyson`s power similar to how Tucker could easily take Mike`s power, plus Fury`s ability to slip punches is far bette than Tucker`s was and he`s taller than Tucker was, Mike is going to have to cover a lot of space and inches reaching that far up to the 6'8-9 Fury, that`s like Stallone fighting Drago in Rocky 4 but more of a gap!

Tyson was knocked out by someone who wasn't the next best in the division. There's always a fighter in any era that would give him problems.

He would dominate imo. He would get under Wilder's right hand coming in and belt him. He'd also find his favored mid-range quite easily against Fury for mine. Joshua might be the most awkward of them actually.

I think Fury would be really awkward for him. Fury's punches wouldn't really hurt him, but he would have a hard time reaching that head almost a foot above his. Fury would also lean on in him clinches and wear him out. My guess is that it's a snooze fest mostly which Fury does enough to win.

Wilder... What he hits with that right goes down. Might also be true for Mike. Mike could go under it, though, and get to that body and then the head. I'll go with Mike here.

Joshua... Also tough to say. Povetkin managed to get inside a fair amount of times and tag Joshua. Tyson is smaller than Pov but more explosive, so you wouldn't really bet against him getting in a lick or two either. He'd get heavy return fire, though, and Joshua does have a really good uppercut which would be a danger coming in. Maybe Mike gets him quite early or AJ rides out the storm and starts to grind Mike down and stops him late.

I don't see what biceps size has to do with anything.Tyson beats all the current cop imo.

Tyson ko S AJ and Wilder before 8.
Tyson Fury a little harder due to style s .If he hurts Fury early he's got him .If it gets past 10 MT struggles .

Conceivably yes, but I would not be betting against him.

He'd cut down Wilder like a chainsaw through a sapling and probably blast out Fury if he could get to him early enough. I'm less certain of what would happen against Joshua but would still favor Tyson, tentatively.

I am not going to deal with washed up or disinterested versions of Tyson here. Disinterested and/or poorly trained fighters can lose to almost any motivated fighter. The best version of Tyson pulverizes Wilder and Fury. Stops AJ mid rounds similar to Tyson-Bruno I. Wilder has made almost zero progress in learning how to box effectively and set up his shots. In fact, if anything he may have regressed. Fury is huge and awkward, but, a prime Tyson would keep chopping away at him until he fell. The only fighter in my opinion who stands a chance to improve to the level where he might be able to compete with prime Tyson is Joshua. Time will tell.

Tyson-Fury, Tyson-Joshua, and Tyson-(prime)Ortiz would be very compelling matchups.

    NO.

He would get inside on these giants and pummel the head and body.
