Would a prime Mike Tyson lose to any of the current top heavyweights?

Mike had a harder punch than Fury has, bigger biceps than Wilder has and through the same counter hooks that Povetkin was able to catch AJ with so I feel he would have done well v these massive heavies, am I being over simplistic?

In Joe Louis's era they would have been in his bum of the month club! When I read someone claiming that Joshua, Wilder, or Fury, is a great fighter I immediately know he understands nothing about boxing at all.

Wilder has rare and real power, but no boxing skills. Fury is huge, mobile, and can box, but cannot punch his way through a paper towel. Joshua is stiff, not particularly fast, and doesn't have the best set of whiskers.

But against Tyson, Joshua would have the best chance. He has power enough to stop a later Tyson from rushing in, coupled with a huge reach and size advantage. (The early Rooney-coached Tyson would have bobbed and weaved, timed and avoided the slower Joshua punches, and knocked him out) Early prime Tyson puts Joshua to sleep, later Tyson is in trouble.

Wilder would either knock later Tyson out as he rushed in, or be knocked out if Tyson got in range. If he had any boxing skills, that long, vicious jab could batter Tyson badly, but he lacks consistency with it. Early Tyson would eat his lunch, though again, someone with Wilder's power always has a punchers chance.
Fury simply does not have the power to keep Tyson off of him, though he might be able to use his huge size, (a foot taller! 15 inch reach advantage!), to tie him up and hold on until Tyson gassed out, which he did by the 6th round or so. If only Fury had any power...

One thing is for certain: Fury would not be clowning around with Mike Tyson trying to tear his head off!

 

I disagree with the Quora user saying today`s heavies aren`t impressive, I feel Fury is something special and him v Mike would have been a classic.

 

lol! Berbick didn`t use the defensive skills that Fury used against Wilder at a safe range, Fury`s reach is far better than Berbicks was who hardly threw a jab at Mike, he was awful that day, just stood in front of Mike, Fury would use great movement v Mike. Tucker was by far the best of the three titlist that Tuyson beat but Fury can do everything that Tucker did in his bout v Mike plus his ability to recover from shots would make him resilient too Tyson`s power similar to how Tucker could easily take Mike`s power, plus Fury`s ability to slip punches is far bette than Tucker`s was and he`s taller than Tucker was, Mike is going to have to cover a lot of space and inches reaching that far up to the 6'8-9 Fury, that`s like Stallone fighting Drago in Rocky 4 but more of a gap!
