The Official No Excuses Thread for the Wilder-Fury Fight may the best man win

Not for me it's not fury won the fight he outboxed wilder for large stretches of the fight. It's hard to go 12 rounds against a guy like wilder and not get caught. Fury wasnt hurt in the 1st knock down he was in the 2nd but recovered nicely. All this talk about american judges yet if the fight was in the uk and wilder was British it would have been a classic British stoppage in the 12th.

 

This was a classic fight, nevermind the scoring.

Though I thought the scores will be transparent like Sam Peter vs Wlad...where Wlad boxed his ears off but got dropped 2x or 3x. But damn...it just seems you never know. So that one judge would have had Wilder ahead even without the second knockdown.

Rematch will be even bigger now...then the winner vs Joshua....I hope Fury doesn't turn sour after this and relapses again, what a waste that would be.

This is a good post. I didn't buy, but it sounds like Team Fury is due the props. Props, Team Fury.

I thought Wilder would win the stamina battle by enough of a margin to eventually be able to trap Tyson against the ropes and knock him out. Hear tell he almost did. Maybe I would regret not buying except that it appears that there was (again) an equivocal resolution to the contest and to reward such behavior with money is stupid, imo.

The boxing oligarchy needs to fix this. As hopeless boxing nerds of all descriptions, we really need to band together and resist the temptation to buy. They are a business. They will pay attention if there are enough of us.
