Winner of Fury-Klitschko had to commit to IBF mandatory and the winner refused to, they rightfully stripped Fury.

Please correct me if i’m remembering things wrong but why did the IBF not threaten to strip Joshua of the title (after beating Martin) if he did not immediately fight the mandatory challenger? Breazeale was ranked 13th with the IBF at the time, not 2nd, 3rd, 4th or even 5th but 13th. The IBF even gave Joshua their blessing to have a rematch with Klitschko should it have gone ahead. Yet they couldn’t wait to strip Tyson Fury. Boxing politics eh...it stinks.

There's definitely politics involved but IBF is the most strict when it comes to mandatories. Rough every 1/1.5 years they will call on one.

With Joshua they left him alone for Molina/Breazeale then the big fight with Klitschko came up and they did go out of their way to sanction it. But immediately after called for mandatory and AJ had to face Pulev who pulled out so he faced Takam.

Not to be rude mate I do agree mostly with what you're saying, but sky had the audacity to make aj vs Molina and breazele a ppv, I don't think they care who's on the other side when it comes to aj ppvs. Next 5 aj ppvs I predict - Whyte, Miller, Hunter, Usyk Fury. I wouldn't be disappointed with this at all and if he was lucky enough to still be a ppv star after facing fury then there won't be a lot left for him to do, maybe if joyce gets his rankings higher he'll be in the mix somewhere and I can easily see hunter getting right up there too

Joshua's fights would need to see a truly massive collapse in terms of popularity for him to be back on a non PPV platform.

Three of his last four fights have cleared a million buys. Combined sales at £19.99 a go equate to just four fights generating close to £100m. We can sit here on a forum suggesting he's not as popular as people make out but those numbers are insane.

No. They sanctioned the Klitschko-Fury fight as for their title, aware of rematch clause.
It makes no sense to sanction a match that has a contract that automatically invalidates the title if the challenger wins.

I thought that Fury's delay of his fight with Wlad came back to haunt him? It meant the IBF mandatory defence was already overdue.

They treated Fury appallingly at the time imo. One rule for one fighter, another rule for a different fighter.

Totally agree with this sentiment and I mentioned it at the time. Hearn has always had a decent relationship with the IBF akin to Warren and the WBO and there is no doubt in my mind that they bought that IBF title. In all honesty Joshua hasn't won a title from a legit heavyweight champion. Parker won his vacant from Ruiz and the WBA 'super' magically appeared for the Klitschko fight. Boxing fans know who the real champ is.

    What delay ?
My memory might be a bit hazy now, but I thought it was Wlad's delay. Wlad had a calf injury.

Either way, it is irrelevant. The IBF sanctioned the match with the rematch clause, but apparently knowing full well they would strip Fury it the case of him winning because of that rematch clause.

It's remarkable that people will actually go so far as to defend the obvious double standards and corruption of the IBF in that case (not talking about you, Holler).

    Exactly.
The most credible 'champ' Joshua beat was Joseph Parker, who's credibility was pretty flimsy (based on Ruiz, Cojanu and Hughie as his title reign) and who freely admitted his position at the top was facilitated entirely by the actions of Fury.

I have nothing but respect for Joshua's performances and achievements and how he's taken care of business inside the ring, and dedicated himself to training and boxing.
But he's still something of a "paper champion" based on the actual facts of how he came to hold all those belts.
The great thing about Joshua is that actually he probably knows this himself, and he'll have a burning desire to prove himself a real champion in the near future.

I think paper champion is harsh. Fury vanished and didn't fight for years. The sport has to go on. Signed to fight Pulev, Povetkin and Parker all of whom were legitimate top five contenders, and fought Klitschko who, albeit old and coming off a loss, was at worst the second best in the world at the weight.

Plus he did all this very early. Let's not forget that at 18-0 Joshua was facing Wladimir Klitschko whilst Fury was getting ready for Vinnie Maddalone.

Yeah, all of that is true, and I like what he's done.
I just don't recognize boxers as "the real champion" until they beat the real champion or clean out all their major rivals.
Joshua hasn't quite done it. Maybe he will. Maybe he won't.

Fury was 23 or 24 when he fought Maddalone. Harsh comparison! Fury defeated Klitschko at a slighy younger age than AJ did.

Interesting to see who improved the most and I think I know the answer = BOTH but I think this time Anthony takes his time, picks his spots & wins in an easier fight like a 10th rd TKO
