Yeah, kind of pathetic considering he was a ranked middleweight contender for 7 years. He boosts Mugabi who went bqck down to Light Middle after the Hagler fight and denigrates Valdez, the guy is a nut job!

Well said .. You have you have to take Klompton for what he is, nasty, deeply insecure and not very bright. That aside his posts are entertaining.

Hearns carried his power all the way up to Lt.heavy, also went 21-3 AFTER Hagler. Duran, 37 fights AFTER Hagler, was capable enough to win the Super Middle title from I Barkley convincingly. Leonard, went up to Lt.heavy and Super middle and KOed Lalonde. Those fighters were still relevant yrs after they fought Hagler. They also carried their weight better than the fighters Monzon fought. Let's look at Monzons ATG opponents that came up to middle. J.Napoles, had 5 total fights after Monzon, retired. E.Griffth
Had 20 total fights After Monzon loss 10, with one draw. Look at the contenders Obeijimas, undeafeated before Hagler, Hamsho had over 30 fights with one loss, some of the fighters he defeated on his way to Hagler, were better than almost everyone not named Valdes Monzon fought by the time he faced them. I'd pick Haglers title defense opponents to almost go undeafeated against Monzons. Fighters like Sibson, Roldan, and Mugabi were far superior to ANYONE Monzon defended his titles against, even the slightly overrated Valdes, who by the way happened to be at the end of his long Career the last time he faced Monzon.

But would you pick any of Hagler opponents to beat Monzon? I wouldn’t pick any of thier opponents to beat the other. I am not a Hagler basher as I rate him above Monzon but I disagree with the Monzon detractors stating his comp is vastly inferior. I am not convinced that it is, and if so the margin is not vast IMO

How about this , would you or anyone pick Hagler to easily blow out a Monzon ? Would any middleweight in history ? In twenty five years studying this sport I have never read anyone position Monzon in so negative a light as the misery did. Every top fighter and trainer has nothing but the highest respect for him but not Klompton, he knows better. He is such a screwball, so filled w venom and a need for recognition he couldnt just make a case for Greb being better but had to rip Monzon’s entire legacy and anyone that supported him. The guy is a buffoon, hilarious and so predictable.

I agree with you. And I think, and it is a matter of opinion I guess, that the bigger message that some are conveying is that the 80's fighters are for some reason far superior to the fighters of the 60's and 70's..

I guess...I just don’t get it??? Oh well!

I love fighters from all different eras, regardless of nationality or race (although I might have a small Philly bias lol). I can debate greatness and levels, but some guys are not happy unless they are ripping someone. I don’t need to rip Tyson to Validate Frazier. I can appreciate both of them and debate who was greater without ripping one to prove my point.

Makes me wonder if these guys love boxing or are compensating for their own terrible existence and cope by spewing their venom here...I bet their homes are delightful places to live lol

There is not much room at home when you are warehousing 100000 of yr own books in yr home in anticipation of a best seller and sell only 32 to a randum group of guys on a Classic Boxing forum.
