Yeah but GGG wasn't being taken to school and humiliated in his home country by a 50% Clenelo who hadn't fought anyone with a pulse in 3 years, was totally inactive for 2.5 years, had seriously abused the hell out of his body with industrial quantities of alcohol, drugs and junk food all throughout those 2.5 years, ballooned up to over 400lbs and then had to shed 140lbs of it back off, and had been battling depression, suicidal thoughts and even came close to committing suicide.

And besides what else is Donkey going to do given how limited he is when it comes to both boxing and fighting? All he knows how to do is launch that big right hand windmill of his like a deranged spastic and bowl over scrubs. Being able to keep lead-footed 250lb giant penguins who are suffering from dehydration and equally lead-footed Cuban pensioners at arm's length shouldn't be classified as possessing boxing ability when the only reason you're able to do so is because your arms are twice as long as their legs.

Poor comparison, Golovkin is one of the most talented boxers of all time, Wilder is just a guy with heavy hands.

The greatest trick the Donkey ever pulled was to convince his fans that he can actually fight

    That's a very weak analogy.

Golovkin is many levels above Wilder and he's probably the best boxer at 160. He's got no need to throw big looping punches like a spaz to win because he's able to scientifically break down and pierce a defence using skill.

As good as Fury is looking right now, Canelo is also way better than him. P4P he has as good if not better a defence, faster hands, better power, better combos and a much better chin.

If GGG had tried to punch his head off like Wilder does Canelo would have made him whiff air all night and probably stopped him with blistering counterpunching by the mid rounds. If Lemieux ever gets a crack at Canelo (and Lemmy is a much better boxer than Wilder btw) you'll get to see the results of your suggested strategy.

    The analogy does not hold.

Is it your turn to make silly threads about Golovkin now?

Can’t argue wth that, GGG didn’t let it all hang out even in the knowledge he was robbed in the first fight, and wasn’t doing as well in the rematch. He let Canelo bully him and rightfully lost a decision.

Wilder for all his flaws didn’t stop trying to take Fury’s head off til the final bell sounded. Showed a real fighters heart.

GGG did what he had to, won both fights, it's not his fault boxing is corrupt.

Lol@ the delusion and denial in this thread.

Canelo made all the adjustments Golovkin was supposed to make in that rematch and thats why he turned a draw into a win.

Golovkin knew he had to dominate or stop Canelo , yet he never once bit down on his gumshield and went in for the kill like a true ATG who refused to be denied a second time.

He had to fight outside of his comfort zone but chose not to and that is why he took an L. He only has himself to blame for fighting in reserve for fear of what would come back. thats a pure unadulterated ironclad fact! :deal::elboinas:

It wasn't that GGG didn't try to hurt Canelo, he just couldn't. Canelo was too slippery and too skilled. GGG had never seen an opponent use that kind of upper body movement, it was totally new to GGG and he didn't know how to handle that. Also unlike Wilder, G really tried to win rounds by outvoluming Canelo. Even if the punches didn't land flush, he earned the draw by just staying busy and landing more total punches in many of the rounds even if they weren't clean. With Wilder vs Fury, Wilder took large chunks of time off during rounds without throwing. (even more than Canelo did during the middle rounds of the first fight with G that many pointed out) Wilder despite giving away large portions of the round, stayed ultra patient and didn't force the action like GGG vs Canelo. That also tired G out by throwing so much to try and stay in the fight, so he didn't have the energy reserves to come up with the kind of big shots Wilder was able to land on Fury late.

So GGG made a tactical choice to go tit for tat with Canelo rather then trying to just load up on big shots. I think you have to go back to the early rounds of the first fight, with what Canelo did to GGG early there, outboxing him and giving him those kinds of angles that frustrated GGG. GGG realized that this guy's outboxing and footwork were way too good for him to be able to set and load up on big shots. Landing big shots on Canelo is nearly impossible becuase of the upper body movement and evasion techniques, so GGG had no choice but to just up his work rate and hope for a gift decision, which he got.
