What have Whyte or Chisora done to warrant 7 figure fight fees? Why couldn't the fight me made for less money? It's an illusion created by Hearn as others have alluded to.
A few weeks ago Hearn and a lot of people on this forum were slating Chisora for turning down £200k to box Joyce. Now some Matchroom bum boys are echoing their bumlord and trying to defend the notion of Chisora earning a 7-figure purse.
Yes it is, for most people, but as someone has mentioned it’s supposed to be a working class sport with the middle and upper classes often demonising boxing whilst they find perfectly spiffing to go and see defenceless animals be ripped apart alive. Some working class people earn minimum wage or close to and have families. That’s less than £300 a week after tax if they get 40 hours. How is £20 (which he’ll creep up yet again soon) out of that budget small for them, why should they be lining the pockets of people just because private school boy Eddie tells them it’s the only way. It’s the way the Instagram gimp, Neil Diamond singing, lemo sniffing generation that are new to the sport lap it up that does my head in the most. Real boxing people are missing out for them pricks. I’ve heard someone on here say Eddie is trying to up his ticket prices too, in order to have a more upmarket clientele. This will backfire because it’s the lads with the more disposable income that bring the arrogance and the lemo along with their lemo sniffing birds that cause most of the trouble. I agree with what you said mate. As for the quality of the picture etc I don’t care, I just worry about the commentary or the buffering/crashing. Will try some mentioned ones in the future probably.
I think Haye-Bellew started this latest bubble, this spate of heavyweight medocrities 'entitled' to PPV money. When a couple of farcical heavyweights like a thoroughly discredited Toe Boy and Tony get so much PPV support, twice ! , sold to a gullible public, then it's natural that ranked heavyweights like Whyte (and even Chisora now!) under the same promotional banner will want and expect Eddie to do the same for them.
It's simple really just don't buy them, plenty of other options available to watch and excellent viewing too!!!
Why do you have to dismiss everyone who buys these fights as 'the gullible public?' Maybe they just like these events and don't think twenty quid is too much to pay? Either way, it's always a bad look to be moaning about people who literally put their life on the line for your entertainment being paid too much.
Any existing Sky Sports or BT Sports subscriber who buys a PPV is being rogered and certainly thick mugths
Not sure why most hardcore boxing fans moan about PPV, if you don't like it, don't buy it. I know most of you watch streams anyway so what are you whining about. It makes business sense if they are still getting 400k+ PPV's for an event each time, it's not like they are going to stop it until the numbers go down. I'm glad I don't live in the USA and have to pay $75+ for a PPV event on top of a cable subscription. DAZN will most likely enter the UK market when the next bidding of Premier League rights come up until then PPV will carry on in the UK.
Top sports people including boxers get paid far too much and PPV does nothing for boxing at lower levels - a Jock boxer was so skint recently he had to stick his hard earned European Belt on Ebay to live. Tony Dosh PPV a multi millionaire will never spend the money he has in the bank already yet he has a tommy tank when negotiating for more. Bellew and Haye, Pudding Chisora and Pudding Whyte certainly fighting for a Poundland Belt do not deserve the millions paid to them. Boycott all PPVs - none are justifed and simply taking advantage of uneducated mugths.
I don't watch streams and would prefer to watch the fights live on my TV in a legal manner but I can't justify to myself paying £20 for one fight especially when I'm already subscribed to Sky. I've said in other posts that I would possibly pay £10 for 2 'main event' level fights, if Usyk-Bellew and Whyte-Chisora were on the same card for £10 I'd probably pay for that but £20 for one fight that might be - over in a round, a boring snoozefest or end in a dodgy decision like Fury-Wilder ?? No thanks.
Oh my god that same US argument that Hearn has brainwashed them with. Showtime costs $11 a month, Sky Sports costs £50 a month Showtime has only done ONE PPV since Mayweather-Mcgregor that was Wilder- Fury. Sky and Eddie Hearn do six PPV’s every year Add up the costs, if you’re any good at Maths. You’ll find being a boxing fan in the UK costs nearly triple compared to a US Fan. Why do i have to pay a extra twenty quid if i subscribe to Sky Sports for boxing matches ?
i didn't know that showtime was so cheap, its also presents big tv shows as well. They are stepping up the ppvs this year thou, which isn't a good thing. i agree peaople who already suscribe to sky sports should either get it free or at a discount and thats the same for bt as well
