The Quinlan fight is pretty bad to be fair. Buatsi will have faced much better opponents in the Amateurs.

Its a typical matchroom yard stick fight, you can here Smith already 'He went 10 rounds with Eubank JNR so he is in that sort of company'

I find it laughable that people are defending Quinlan as an opponent for Buatsi when Eubank Jr beat the crap out of him non stop in a one sided battering at a weight division below. Most people here would say that Buatsi has more power and better technical skills than Eubank so why is this an acceptable fight? Quinlan is not even a LHW. His best win is against a shot MW in Geale.

Did anyone here even watch Eubank-Quinlan? Buatsi will annihilate Quinlan.

It’s an acceptable fight because he’s had 8 fights! The same reason why it’s acceptable for Dubois to take on Cojanu. 8 fights is Less than half as many as Yarde, he’s been pro just over a year, Yarde in excess of 3 years, Quinlan is a top 30 fighter, Yarde is yet to face anyone in the boxrec top 35.

So your next question is why Yarde comparisons isn’t it? Yarde is the measuring stick Because Yarde is his domestic rival, Yarde v Buatsi is a fight the fans want to see.

We know you hate Eddie and matchroom and will criticise anything they do but this isn’t something worthy of criticism. I respect you as a poster although a lot of our opinions vary. I’d say to you don’t let your blind hatred for all things matchroom ruin your judgement when it comes to the country’s top prospect. He’s special, sit back and enjoy it with no promotional bias.

Buatsi is a special talent though. Unanimously this forum shares the opinion that he has world level potential. He did well in the Olympics so there’s no reason why he can’t be moved quicker. Kelly has already boxed Molina and has Avenyesan this weekend.

Quinlan is absolutely awful and not even a LHW.

Who would people here fancy in Eubank v Buatsi at LHW? Buatsi. So why match Buatsi with a human punch bag who was completely destroyed by Eubank at 168? It was NXTGen fair enough. This is a PPV card, I expect a little better.

It’s a learning fight and let’s be honest more importantly it’s a last minute show filler. Could’ve been a lot worse of an opponent. Also if Burton turned down the fight what more can they do?

By the way also in reply to your last post I think Yarde’s management has been abysmal. Was just making the point that he would be slated for dragging up a SMW if he was ordered to box Quinlan.

If Eddie tried to make the Burton fight for December 22 and Burton turned it down then fair play. I still disagree that this is a good progression fight for Buatsi though.

Hearn says Wilder/Fury wasn't a great fight but has stated several times Whyte/Chisora 1 was one of the best heavyweight fights of all time.

I get kicks out of Hearn because I always imagine what he'd say if it was his fighter involved:

"Wilder/Fury was a throwback to the 70's. The best fighting the best. I didn't just think Tyson was beaten in the 12th, I actually thought he was dead. I've got me phone in me hand ringing 911 and by the time I've pressed in the last 1, Tyson is backing Wilder up. The 12th round has got to be the greatest final round we've ever seen. We have to do this fight again immediately."

A few more points on Hearn's interview. The interview isn't as bad as the title suggests. A bit of damage limitation from Eddie's side. He's getting lambasted on Twitter for his comments pre fight.

He really fancies the Wilder fight and I believe he's going to pay team Wilder huge money to make it before a Wilder/Fury rematch. I won't be surprised if AJ/Wilder happens in April. Nobody leaves Hearn in the corner!

The reason for all the above is he wants nothing to do with Fury or Warren. He can't even call AJ winning the fight without saying "I could be wrong", which he said several times, knowing his comments could again come back to bite him. He knows Fury is a horrible fight for AJ and also a horrible negotiation, as Warren will demand 50/50 and a Sky/BT PPV split, especially if Fury has the WBC belt. It's his worst nightmare inside and outside the ring.

He wants AJ with all the belts. Not least so he can say "AJ is no.1, undisputed heavyweight champion, who knocked out Deontay Wilder. We'll fight Fury, but it's an 80/20 split in our favour exclusively on Sky Box office."

It'll be awful if these fights aren't made because of boxing politics. I personally couldn't give a toss who broadcasts what. Let's just get these fights made!

I agree that what we all want is for the fights to be made, but the numbers don't lie. Joshua just generates lots more money than anyone else. If Warren and Fury demand 50/50 then it's not a nightmare for Hearn; it's just blatant overvaluation by Warren that wouldn't be accepted.

We need to be honest about this. Fury did really well at the weekend, but how much money did he generate? How much did he do against Klitschko compared to Joshua? How have his fights sold in the UK? I know people get sick of these discussions, but they have to happen and if one side are making stupid demands that will be the reason why the fight doesn't happen.

Comparison; same time, same opponent, same channel, same titles, same price. Fury did around a million less than Joshua. With that in mind, what can Fury do to say he deserves more than a third of the pot? And a third would still probably see him paid somewhere in the region of £15m.

I think you are underestimating the impact of Wilder/Fury fight. It has blown up massively after the fact not just here but in America. Now Hearn is in a position where he HAS to make one of those fights otherwise it will look like a duck.

They both can demand more than their worth now imo.

I'm not here to debate splits. Don't really give a toss at the moment. FWIW I don't believe Fury currently deserves 50%. Purely because he hasn't the numbers yet to back it up. That could change if he won a rematch in America though. I believe a Wilder/Fury rematch does big ppv numbers in America and Britain. Put together that's major bread. It's AJ bread!

I was merely pointing out that Eddie doesn't want anything to do with Fury because A.) It's AJ's toughest fight and one he may not win and B.) Hearn's toughest negotiation.

I just hope public power makes the difference. If AJ and Fury remain active the next few years and don't fight, there will be uproar.
