Anthony Joshua took aim at heavyweight rivals Wilder and Fury roaring: None of you can box like me! Could he outpoint both men? Does he have that kind of savvy or will he need a KO?
He's technically sounder than Wilder (who'd be a live dog with a real puncher chance) but Fury would box the **** out of him.
He’s got way better boxing skills than Wilder He’s got way more power than Fury The combination of both allied to a good defence might well allow him to outbox both!
AJ has no chance to outbox Fury unless Fury comes into the ring in very obese condition. He has better punching power and punch resistance than Fury though so he has a very good chance of beating Fury.
I'd pick him to beat Wilder and lose to Fury. If he loses to Wilder, he will have outboxed him but lost by KO. If he beats Fury, he will have been outboxed, but win by KO.
Fury’s a great boxer with limited power, Wilder’s a poor boxer with phenomenal power. AJ is in the middle of the two extremes that are Wilder and Fury. Good power with decent boxing skills. Three top heavyweights with a variety of skill sets. Exciting stuff for the division.
He can't outbox Fury, but he can do enough to land some bombs. If somebody as sloppy as Wilder can breach the fabled gypsy defense and knock Fury down twice, then I'm confident Joshua can too. That fight is close to a 50/50, probably 60/40 in favour of Fury as he continues to improve his fitness and sharpness. I've always been confident Joshua boxes his way to a mid round KO against Wilder. Fury was landing a steady stream of 1-2s at will, Joshua won't need half as many as Fury did before he cracks that chin.
He out boxes Wilder for sure, Joshua is on another level to Wilder in regards to pure boxing skills. No way can Wilder out point AJ. Fury is another matter. Fury's movement and skill on the outside will see him pick Joshua off from range. Joshua will struggle to find opportunities to throw vs Fury because he'll be made to reset over and over again. Joshua could beat Fury but he doesn't do it by trying to out box him. He'll need to be smart and pressure Fury.
There`s a good chance AJ will be ahead on points even if he is stopped by Wilder though, do you think Wilder is a more skilled boxer on top of being more agile than AJ?
