Nobody is actually surprised about this right. Warren can bang on all he likes about doing a spilt PPV but that is never gonna happen.
“I work for Sky but fully expect and hope the fight takes place on BT. Please Sky, accept my preference to BT’s superiority”
Some people don't think contracts actually mean something. Like you can just renegade on legal contract. Crazy thinking. I actually forgot AJ has an exclusive sky box office contract so nice one reminding people about that.
Surprises surprise. Sky don't want to give there competitor a cut of the 1 mil + buys AJ alone guarantees. It's easy to say you want a split PPV when you are the one who benefits the most from it. This isn't Mayweather and Pacquiao where both fighters had a history of drawing 1 mil PPV Buys on there own respective networks. This is AJ who repeatedly draws over a 1 mil and Tyson Fury who draws................... ........ Anybody in the same position as Adam Smith would say exactly the same thing.
Fury’s contracted to BT too Contracts can be broken or terminated. For Sky and BT, it’s pocket change money. So a co-broadcast is possible if Sky stop being arrogant thieving scumbags.
How many fights had Manny or Mayweather had before they’d established themselves has huge PPV stars...30, 40? Tyson Fury has had 28 fights...his name is growing, he is becoming a huge name over in the states and here. He is finally starting to get the credit he deserves. Everybody is talking about him. He’s an actual personality, a brilliant talker, he’s not been media trained, people recognise that he’s real...flawed but real. People don’t get bored of that because it’s organic and it evolves, it isn’t bland, media trained, role model nonsense. The majority of people don’t want a boxer to be a role model. Ali wasn’t a role model, he was outrageous, rebellious, he upset the suits with the things he said and did who tried to gag him and push him away from the sport. Yet the legacy he went on to create in and beyond the sport was incredible and will be remembered for decades. I believe we’re starting to see the beginning of something very similar with Tyson Fury, different context but similar. He is outrageous, unpredictable, entertaining and now inspiring. It’s been a slow burner but you’re going to see his popularity increase with every fight.
That doesn't negate the point I made. It stands to reason that sky would call the shots simply as they have the A side by a huge margin.
