More hate for one of the few entertaining young HWs who are fighting regularly. If none of the top 3 are available then I guess Whyte will have to settle for busting open either Breazeale or Ortiz but they both would be a huge climb down in terms of earnings. Sad that politics and cherry-picking management are conspiring against him but he just has to keep grinding and then at least he will be as fit and ready as can be when the belt holders are forced into fighting him.
This whole bogeyman Ortiz thing is a load of bollocks. His best win is against Bryant Jennings and hasn't won spectacularly against anyone else of note. Very, very overrated for his resume. He is about 50, cannot do 12 at a good pace and doesn't like fighting anyone decent.
Because it's Prize Fighting and he offers next to jack in terms of generating a big prize. Why do people find this so hard to understand??? No-one has 'ducked' him in order to fight someone for a lower purse or less status, he's a nobody and has all the magnetism and cache of a nobody.
100% - people would be happy to fight him if it was for the same purse as fighting any other top 10 HW. It isn't because he is immortal but just because it is a crap pay day.
Yes I agree he's not the biggest draw but that's because nobody fought him! How can you be a draw if nobody will actually fight you? It's a bit of a catch 22. Let's not pretend this situation hasn't happened before.
Chisora will go through Whyte like laxitive anyway. I have Chisora as favorite in this. Beat him the first time round and will do a better job this time round.
Ortiz should do exactly what Parker did FFS that's the blueprint for a would-be HW but Ortiz has some serious entitlement issues like all HWs from across the pond. Happy to sit on his backside and moan.
He needs to do the lottery cos that’s as much of a chance he will have to make millions. Feel bad for him he’s straight up always which is rare nowadays but it’s got him nowhere
Fair play to Hughie though for actually trying to take on challenges and improve. And it didn't take him 40 years or 40 pro fights to start doing it.
Whyte v Parker apparently did 474,000 PPV buys in UK, meaning £9.4 million in UK PPV revenue alone, so he should have taken a million or two of that. Plus all his other fights. And has another PPV coming up. Whyte should have a couple of mill in the bank already, surely.
