According to Jake Wood, AJ-Wilder is a done deal

Jake Wood (Max Branning) was on Talksport the other day and says he has it on record from an inside source that AJ/Wilder is a done deal for April.

I'm not saying this information can be seen as factual but he's obviously heard something from someone who he deems credible in the industry. I don't think he's the type of person to just blatantly make something up.

We know Hearn flew to LA immediately after the Wilder/Fury fight. Was this to quickly finalise a couple of things/give it the green light? Hearn is now saying he's not gonna go public with the "negotiations" this time round - is this because he knows it's already in place and it would be a waste of energy?

As posters will know, I've been very harsh on the ducking antics of matchroom this past year, and I said after the Fury/Wilder draw that this gives Hearn the green light to make the much planned Joshua/Whyte fight. However, I take that back. The Fury/Wilder fight post reaction suggests that AJ NEEDS to fight one of these two or they will receive tremendous backlash. Fans got a flavour of what it is like when 2 of the 3 top guys go head to head and they are thirsty for more.

I have a great feeling that AJ/Wilder is gonna be made for April. Have I took a bump to the head?

 

I'd be amazed if the fight was sorted out this quickly considering that negotiations last time were back and for for almost a year was it?

That being said I have my fingers crossed as I would love this fight. I'm hoping Fury/Wilder/AJ fight eachother a couple of times each of the next 2 years. What a time for HW boxing!

 

No way is this fight happening in April. It MIGHT have been in contention leading into the Fury fight, but it’s not happening in reality.

 

He’s a massive boxing fan, I’ve seen him a the small hall amateur shows quite a few times

Hearn was in the States last summer and thought it was funny to constantly ridicule Shelly Finkel in lots of interviews. Why would he do that if he wanted to make the fight?
Hearn did fly to LA but (according to FW) Finkel was in New York and didn't speak to him.
