It's an exhibition a win loss or draw will not count on his record. He has nothing to lose here and is going to get paid.

Okay but that is N/A for people who already used their free trial, no? So that's a little disingenuous to say without qualification that Canelo vs. Fielding is "free".

I dunno. I'm kind of of two minds on this. On the one hand, yeah it looks kinda' cheesy with a side of cringe. On the other hand, seems like nearly every retired boxer can't stand it. Some true greats get silly about it (looking at you, RJJr) but there it is. Floyd has yet to be seriously injured. He's what, 40 now? I'd be willing to bet he thinks he could beat all of the top welters one after the other if he went into this-is-not-a-drill championship preparation. And who knows...maybe he could.

Meh, I won't seek it out, but if he wants to do it, who can gainsay him?

Yeah and people don't exactly shit on Ali for the Inoki exhibition (if anything they politely ignore that it ever happened ), so pretty clearly a double standard.

Are you joking? From what I remember, Ali got plenty of flak from that fight.

Contemporaneously yeah - but even back then plenty of his diehards swept it under the rug acting like it was no big deal.

But it hasn't lasted or damaged his overall legacy. People act like this will haunt Floyd the rest of his life. (then again, they sputtered the same histrionics about McGregor, and before that Berto..)

True enough. Floyd's legacy is already set in stone; he can fight a kangaroo next and it won't take a hit.

No judges is odd but that's good for Mayweather really

Automatically gets to save face...unless he gets sparked out. Then, no matter how blue in the face he goes saying he never took an L that counted, that will be the lasting impression of him.

Void always has his way . The Japanese boy should just kick and elbow Void on the ropes and would be entertaining.

Yes because Tenshin at the height of his domestic popularity and smack in his prime wants to compromise his sterling reputation in Japan by cheating and fighting dirty.

The bout will not be going on boxing or mma records!
What are your thoughts on this?
