With robberies being a hot topic, why is this fight never deemed a robbery?

Palomino lands consistent body shots thoughout the contest that seems to go over the head of many a observer.

Benitez is tipping and tapping throughout but Palomino lands the much heavier and significant blows. I guess it's all subjective.

I agree. I felt Benitez won clearly. Wasn’t the judge (who’s scored for Palamino) asked what was he looking at and he said the sun was in his eyes.

I think it depends on how bad the bias seemed I think most reasonable fans look at a close fight and understand it could go either way even if they don't like the result...i.e. Hagler-SRL was a close fight though I prefer Hagler it wasn't a robbery as much as I wish it was the same with this fight.

A few fights that were robberies most agree with

    Fury-Wilder
    ODLH-Trinidad
    Whittaker-JCC

Not for me, maybe I'm in the minority .. But neither guy landed much in this one and to me no one really established a dominate performance .. There were close rounds in this and Wilder had his gloves up and a lot of Fury's shots missed and/or were blocked … The guy on his back twice got robbed, not for me .. Just not buying Fury had this spectacular performance because Wilder's was self-admittingly bad

Complete agree. I didn't see it as Fury being robbed either. He made Wilder miss with his round house punches but he was still getting caught by stiff jabs and was rocked multiple times throughout the fight. Many of his own punches either missed or were blocked as well.

Wilder didn't look good but Fury didn't do much offensively to win the fight.

I had something like this as well. I see no robbery.

    Of course he did.
You'd have to be generous to Wilder to get him a draw.
Anyone who scored that fight for Wilder needs to have their eyes examined.

For what it’s worth, Carlos palomino believes he won the fight. He stated,”anywhere else in the world in the world I would have won that fight “.

Zack Clayton, Carlos Palomino and the initial post on this subject matter are the only times I ever heard anyone say this was anything but a clinic for Benitez. But of course, Zack had the sun in his eyes when he said it.

I was a little disappointed to hear that it was Zack Clayton went to the old “the sun was in my eyes card”.
