If You Were Amir Khan, Who Would You Fight: Kell Brook Or Terence Crawford?

Got to imagine yourself in Khan's shoes. These guys are where they are for a number of reasons, one of them is a huge amount of self belief.

The boxing public may feel he has no chance, but Khan won't. I'll never criticise someone for aiming big

I'm not arguing that he'll win, just saying his reasons for taking the fight over Brook would be totally justified and I'd credit him for it

You know what though, dude? He's gonna' take a bad whoopin' either way. I think Brook is less cruel by nature when he is dominant (this is by eyeball so take it for what it's worth). This is one of the things that make me compare Bud to Marvelous; once they have control they toy with their food. It's almost feline.

 

Either way he gets beaten. Should have taken the Brooks fight in Britain. AT least that would have been a big payday.

Kell needs to move on even the blind can see who as ducked who the public know who as wanted it and who as not

If I was Amir Khan, I'd put a paper bag over my head to hide my ugly mug.

 

I would go for the Crawford fight. Note I think he most likely loses to either fighter.

The potential upside should he beat crawford would be far higher. He would be right up there and the rematch could be massive.

If he loses the downside is less than a defeat by Brook. He was never favoured, was brave to take it on etc. Despite what Eddie Hearn says the Brook fight would still like be an option even after losing to TC.

 

I’d pick Crawford if I were Khan. If he fights brook and loses, his career is over. If he beats brook people will just say brook was damaged goods anyway (which he is really) and Khan won’t get a whole lot of credit for it.

If he beats Crawford he has completely resurrected his career and will be at the top of the sport again. If he loses (which he will) he will have lost to a top p4p fighter and will still be able to get some good paydays. In fact, the brook fight will probably happen after the Crawford fight. Especially if Khan makes it remotely competetitve while he’s still on his feet in the ring against Crawford.

 

Why is Khan in any conversation. All top welters beat him.
