Crawford is highly skilled with good power but Horn is naturally bigger Also Crawford didn't even really get out of second gear he was beating Horn so easily. At 147 the likes of Spence and Thurman would spark him out early at 154 he would get murdered by any of the big names like Charlo, Hurd and Kell Brook.

Mundine should of said middleweight to horn or no fight, chocolate didn't need to fight horn at that silly weight, fight was a joke, didn't do his legacy any favours, would of preferred to see choc smash Geale at super middle FOR less money and a legacy boost. I think he would have done the job as geale is done.

I thought Michael Zerafa boxed pretty well today.

He's got those long arms & was able to land the jab & right hand reasonably consistently.

I would have given him more rounds than either the official judges or the commentators.

His real chance to win the fight came in the 9th or 10th round (can't remember which) when he backed Brook up with a series of right hands that appeared to have him in trouble.

He needed to go full monty at that point & who knows what would have happened.

He didn't though & the moment passed.

    That was his chance.

Fantastic effort mate special K didn't have the easy fight that many thought he would ( myself included I'm happy to admit ) Jeez the pretty one showed a heap of heart and quiet an amount of boxing ability in an entertaining stoosh also at his tender age he could possibly go on to capture a real title, all in all the kid done very well and enhanced his reputation here , where does Kel go from here is another question .

I thought the fight was a good chance for Zerafa against an opponent who's been world class but is probably now on the way down.

If Zerafa had better punching power, it may have been a different result.

While Brook may well be on the way down, as we both know, sometimes a fighter who is past it can pull it all together for a final fling against the right opponent.

Amir Khan would be a good fight for him in that regard.

BTW Mate it was the 9th round and if Zerafa could have included a couple of lefts to the body then I think Kel would have been in a whole world of trouble.

Personally I think Khan beats the bark of this version of Kel .

    Aus Boxing Update.
Steven Spark March 2019 vs Luis Ronaldo Castillo for vacant IBF Youth 140 lb Title.
Castillo is 18 - 1 14 ko but has his only loss was to light hitting Alex Duran 17 - 0 4 ko by tko in 4 rds.
This can be a stepping stone to world ranking as current youth title holders Jai Opetia and
    Liam Paro can testify.
Aust 154 lb Champ Sam Colombian returning to ring in March and hopefully Tim Tszyu can
land a shot in 2019. However Tim has landed a parting shot at Micheal Zerafa
" Well done on a gutsy performance. Zerafa i am waiting for you. "
Talks now have been of a Kell Brooks vs Jeff Horn. Brooks is now vulnerable and both
are small 154 lbs and this would be huge crowd in Brisbane. Money talks.
WBA no 3 at 115 lbs Andrew Maloney forced to withdraw from his fight with
Chris Paulino after suffering a cut in training.
Thunder 28 still going ahead with Jon English vs Cain Brunton for vacant Aus FW Title.
Brandon Ogilive back in action over 6 rds.
Talks of a added Aussie flavour to Pacaquio vs Broner undercard. Would have to be
George Kambosos Jr as once again he is chief sparring partner for Pacquiao.
    Great night at Southport Sharks.
Jacob Ng new Aust LW Champ with tko over Gaige Ireland. Would be a great matchup
if Ng fought Perth strongman Francis Chua.
Tysinn Best new Aust WW Champ with pts win over Nathan Webber.
Josh Frederiksen new Aust LHW Champ with pts win over Quintin Carey.
Demsey Mckean dominant in defending Aust HW title over Roger Izonritei.
Roger retired in corner at end of 4th rd.

Now there's an interesting fight - Kel Brook v Jeff Horn.

Brook now has something that Horn would like - the WBA mandatory position at 154lbs.

Horn could provide something that Brook would like - a big payday.

Zerafa didn't really test Special K to the body.

Let's see how Special K handles a few underneath the rib-cage from Horndog.

The kind that had Mundine's legs quivering every time they landed.

Another great effort from a Aussie abroad.
Zefara fought out of his skin and certainly made Kell look like the "Average One".
Once his face heals up I'd imagine the stripping business will be booming.

I think Tszyu vs Zefara would be a good fight for both if it can get a bit of exposure.
I picked MZ when it was originally mooted and I'd stick with that call.
I dont think he would give Tim a bad beating and a loss wouldn't hurt Tszyu at this early stage of his career..might turbocharge him refining his craft if anything.

Jeff Horn will continue to chase big fights as the Hornet recently bought a 1.71 m home
in the Brisbane Suburb of Sunnybank for his young family.
Dennis Hogan if he defeats Jamie Weetch on Sat is then looking for a world title
    shot April / May.
Telegraph reports as part of opening showpiece events at Bankwest Stadium ( home
of the Western Sydney Wanderers and the Parramatta Eel's and capacity of 30000 and
due to open late April ) a fight promoter is in negotiations with a massive name in world
    of boxing for a $20 m fight.
The only fighter outside Anthony Joshua who could command this purse is Canelo Alvarez.

Well I guess if Canelo wins a Super Middleweight belt (which he will this weekend) he could defend it against Bilal Akkawy in Western Sydney.

I'll try to catch Dennis Hogan v Jamie Weetch on Saturday. I've used Epicentre before & they're reliable as a broadcast service.

I'd like to see Jeff Horn v Kel Brook.

I think Horndog eats Special K for breakfast.

I'd like to see that also but it all depends on K's next outing ie it will determine if Kel is indeed past it or this weekend's fight was just a bad night at work for the fella , personally I can see Khan taking a great deal of encouragement from Kels under par performance and the pair getting it on in a stadium fight up in Manchester next summer , the gate bucks and PPV revenue make it a must make fight imo .

Amir Khan is another name that would be a big payday if Brooks vs Khan can't be made.
Khan was in Aust for filming of I am a Celebrity and attended the Horn vs Corcoran fight.
And they crossed verbal jabs. Crawford was a elite fighter and the Hornet is so much
stronger at 154 lbs and once again Khan is not a big 154 lb fighter.
Looks like there is some truth to the rumour of Canelo Alvarez coming to Aust.
Bilal mentions a big fight in May and currently he is WBA no 8 and Canelo fights
for WBA regular 168 lb Title this weekend.

The Flamingo could well be Aust most underrated fighter. This kid was a Muay Thai Champ
and has a talent and keep a eye on him. He won the Aust LW Title last Sat.

Personally I think Khans speed and smarts would be too much for Horn to cope with , I see Jeff getting cut , battered & bruised by Khan and getting stopped in around 8 or 9 . Great fight financially though I think it would PPV rather well in both hemispheres.
