The fact is Wilder is the Champion and an American, his and the main backers are US based and the fight makes mega cash in Vegas to pay all involved, that’s life.

If it did, and Warren was correct about Fury's new found stadium filling popularity, have it in London in front of 90k at Wembley with 1.5m buying it on PPV and earning both men well over eight figures minimum?

 

Only an imbecile or a windup merchant could truely fail to understand that the rematch is massive/ the first fights post fight story went mainstream in the US.

Vegas site fee dwarfs Wembley. Wilder and Showtime are not going to come here anyway - America is the primarily market especially for PPV. DiBella and co are talking 1m US buys for a rematch.They want Wilder to become a US star, last week was the start. BT will be loooking at approaching 1m buys also.

Frank has said Fury now sells out any stadium in the UK. The question I would be asking would be that if that was true, then the Vegas rematch would have to be absolutely massive to generate more money. And I just don't think it would be.

But you asked how can Fury be number 1? Well when there's a general consensus of who the top 3 are, and one of them loses, which Wilder did and is recognised by about 90% of boxing people, it leaves 2 and Fury is 1 of the 2, with more than a strong claim to be the number 1.
