The usual sour grapes from Warren. Fury drew with wilder so how is he number 1??? Embarrassing to be honest to lure the likes of Lowe and yarde in to have a big fight stateside, Lowe fought a bum and wasn’t televised and yarde didn’t even fight!
Clearly that's not the only way the fight can be made. Fury can accept what he's worth and Warren can accept that the financial draw isn't Fury. Fury just earned a third of what Joshua earned against Takam in a fight with Wilder.
This is a really silly argument that your making. The average earning people/families in London can’t afford to live in Primrose Hill, but that’s life isn’t it. The average person(s) can’t afford to send their kids to private school, but thats life. The average person(s) can’t afford a Range Rover, but hey that’s life. The fact is Wilder is the Champion and an American, his and the main backers are US based and the fight makes mega cash in Vegas to pay all involved, that’s life.
Nothing really suggests the fight makes mega cash for anyone involved. If it did, and Warren was correct about Fury's new found stadium filling popularity, have it in London in front of 90k at Wembley with 1.5m buying it on PPV and earning both men well over eight figures minimum?
Only an imbecile or a windup merchant could truely fail to understand that the rematch is massive/ the first fights post fight story went mainstream in the US. Vegas site fee dwarfs Wembley. Wilder and Showtime are not going to come here anyway - America is the primarily market especially for PPV. DiBella and co are talking 1m US buys for a rematch. They want Wilder to become a US star, last week was the start. BT will be loooking at approaching 1m buys also.
BT will be looking at a million PPV buys in the middle of the night? Nope. A million PPV buys for the rematch of a fight that did a third of that? Nope. DiBella can talk all he likes. Wilder has proven he's not a big PPV name with his bang average figures for his last fight. You need to face reality. The times have changed. European heavyweights have been earning mega money whilst American heavyweights like Wilder earn a comparative pittance.
What are you on about? Showtime Said before the fight, they expect it to do at least 200k which is the average for a fighter doing his 1st US PPV so Wilder met that target by getting the projected 300k buys. The rematch is now of major interest to mainstream America- it’s not hard to work out what’s going to happen. Yes we know The Klitschko and now AJ era’s have been generating the money since the Americans lost interest after Lewis retired, but the monster has been stirred abit from last weeks fight. Hatton - Mayweather got about 900k over here 10 years ago- BT will do very well In he rematch. Anyway, the proof will be in the pudding.
And a decent proportion of Fury’s fans do have the money to pay for flights and hotel rooms with a wad of notes they’ve made illegally/immorally.
You obviously live in lala land where everything is as it is because “that’s life!” So make an argument as to how AJ has made so much money fighting out of the UK.
Who’s arguing that AJ isn’t sitting on a mountain of cash or that money can’t be made here in the right circumstance? That’s not the topic - you were babbling in about Frank somehow conning the fans by Fury fighting in Vegas which is simply ridiculous.
Frank has said Fury now sells out any stadium in the UK. The question I would be asking would be that if that was true, then the Vegas rematch would have to be absolutely massive to generate more money. And I just don't think it would be.
Aye I know the result of the fight wee pea. But you asked how can Fury be number 1? Well when there's a general consensus of who the top 3 are, and one of them loses, which Wilder did and is recognised by about 90% of boxing people, it leaves 2 and Fury is 1 of the 2, with more than a strong claim to be the number 1.
