Wilder v Fury 2 will do enough buys to be a stand alone success. Clashing with any AJ date is going to lose viewers so it’s pointless. Even if Fury and Wilder sold more they could have sold a lot more if they hadn’t clashed. Frank isn’t stupid and he knows this. He’s a bit smug because he’s got a bit of success. Let him enjoy it for the minute.
Fury vs Wilder is a huge fight for the American audience. Joshua vs an opponent is a huge fight for Little England. There are levels.
If Wilder and Fury rematch what exactly do you want him to do? He can't fight himself (Ring #1) or either of the two who follow him (as they're having a rematch) so your 'soppy' options are, as per the Ring rankings, the second best fight at the weight that would be possible (Whyte, best being Ortiz.) He can't fight the two who follow as presumably that would be even soppier, (given he's already beaten them both in the shape of Povetkin and Parker), which brings us to Miller. Who you've already dismissed as soppy. I can't believe a man as obviously biased as yourself would suggest the very, very old, beaten by Wilder, who in turn was beaten by Fury (I imagine you had it something like 118-102 with both knockdowns 10-9 rounds), Luis Ortiz wasn't 'soppy.' Nor can I really believe that anyone else wouldn't be dismissed as soppy. So tell me, what could he do?
Based on what? Also, heavyweights in 'little England' make ten times plus the amount they make in America. 'Little England' is the centre of heavyweight boxing at the minute.
Ed Earn has Joshua v Pudding Whyte lined up unless Pudding Pakora throws a spanner in the works. Looks like more PPV Pie for Pudding Whyte - incredible that this will be his 4th PPV. Never has one fat pudding, earned so much, from PPV
Hearn mentioned the possibility of it in the Kugan interview a few days ago. But we know he likes to tell lies, so you're probably right.
Joshua-Klitschko, Joshua-Takam, Joshua-Parker, Joshua-Povetkin. Those are just 4 examples of AJ PPV's that have absolutely destroyed the Wilder-Fury numbers worldwide using just UK numbers ALONE. The UK currently has a bigger boxing audience as of right now. That is a fact barring any Floyd comeback. Whether it's Joshua-Whyte II, Joshua-Usyk, Joshua-Chisora, Joshua-The guy down the street. It doesn't matter. AJ beats the Wilder-Fury rematch numbers without needing a US presence.
If Whyte struggles to beat Chisora again, or stinks the place out, a Joshua-Whyte fight in Wembley for April will be a really poor show for such a long wait for AJ fans. On the other hand, I wonder sometimes whether Hearn actually fears a Whyte win against AJ. As crazy as it sounds, Whyte's been dreaming of landing another hook on AJ, with a healthy shoulder, for 3 years now, and the way he dropped Parker at least signals he's got a very decent hook at a world level. I can imagine Hearn having conflicted feelings on the Joshua-Whyte 2 proposition. On paper, and in most likelihood, Joshua should beat Whyte up easy, easier than when they were both less experienced. Whyte is Matchroom's second fiddle and really just being set up as fodder for AJ .... But if Whyte can land a hook or a few and score an upset it really throws the Joshua legend into disarray. It's not like Joshua losing to a Russian or an American or Fury even, where the rematch can be built into a legendary event ... it would be Matchroom heavyweight #2 stepping out of his place, dethroning the favourite son, and upsetting the whole company's order.
I think AJ wants Whyte. His wanted another scrap Vs Whyte for ages. Whyte has to look good vs Chisora though. If Whyte KOs him AJ v Whyte 2 will be huge!!! If Whyte v chisora is another barn burner it will be huge.
even if Pudding Scissora wins then its AJ vs Pudding Scissora. Hearn has stacked it so that no matter what outcome we will get a Pay Per Pudding show on April 13th
Yes it is a Pay per Pudding at Wembley Stadium - this is not much better than when Tony Dosh fought Dr Legg from Eastenders at the same stadium on the Groves v Froch undercard in 2014,
