He mentions this in literally every interview, including today's Joe Rogan podcast... Every time he talks about Joshua and the UK, he says that they have a salary cap over there, and they don't make as much money as here in the states.... Is he in denial?? is he blind? has he seen Joshua's purses?? Deontay makes an 8th of what Joshua has been making.. whats he talking about?

Wilder is actually not intelligent in the slightest. I wouldn’t bother listening to a word he says.

I think it comes to max earning potential.

He does make some good points such as the price of american ppv being 5 times what they are in Britain (no idea why anyone would pay that) live gate being higher and Also still having the UK ppv market ( people will still pay here to watch at 5am). So ya he does have a point if he waa freaking floyd mayweather.

His not though but he talks as if he is some p4p pound mega star making 100's of millions, its pretty hilarious

I'd rather have 3 million people by my PPV at 20 pounds, then 300,000 people buy it @ $74.99 .... just sayin .. Boxing is a much more important sport in UK than America... it's probably 2nd after Football

No not at all boxing isn't that big here.
Rugby union would be the second sport
Football is sport here it dominates it.
Then boxing is amongst a mix of rugby league, tennis, formula 1, darts , snooker, cricket, golf etc.
I think darts is actually the second biggest sport in TV officially

I completely disagree, I don't think many people would be willing to pay for darts if the big events were ppv. boxing in the uk is filling 90k stadiums are millions are paying for PPV. to compare that to the other free to watch sports is a funny comment. yes darts is popular so is rugby but make them PPV and see how many care

I think this went over you head.. If the fight was in the US it still will sell at least 2 million PPVs in the UK as the UK fans over there have proven in past that they will stay up to support their fighters..( Hatton, Lennox etc)..Where as if the fight is in the UK there would be little to no extra money on top because it would most likely not be PPV in the US due to the time difference..

1 million x 74.99= almost 75 million.. We will pay for AJ vs Wilder..
    plus
2 million x 20 = 40 million.. UK fans will pay for this fight
Almost $120 million combines If the fight is in the US in PPV sales alone

    Vs

    No PPV in US
    3 million x 20 = 60 million..

That’s being said I don’t care where the fight happens I just want to see it..

It makes me laugh when people who clearly are not from the UK, try to claim things about the UK that are simply not true.

No boxing is not "huge" here, its far behind football and rugby.

No not many people will stay up/get up at 5am.

No ticket prices are not "20 dollars" and therefore the reason as to why we fill out stadiums.

Stop and do some actual research before saying/typing this garbage please.

then why is Joshua filling stadiums in Cardiff and Wembley?? thats pretty impressive considering your population 1/6th of the size of the U.S.

    quite simply, better promotion.

Going to see a HW fight in London is a night out, not just a boxing match.

Consider how many stadiums are full of football fans every Saturday, much more than filling Wembley or Cardiff.

The Olympic gold helps Joshua's profile hugely as well. Fury Wilder is a megafight and would sell out Old Trafford. After being the home fighter in his past two title fights, I really hope he does fight over here and the public embrace him. Fights are at weekends anyway, so the USA public will still have easy access to PPV, albeit earlier... and you guys deserve it as us Brits suffer too many 5ams all the time!

The maths is incorrect though. Only about half the PPV cost in the US makes its way to the promotion, which is not the case with PPV in the UK. It's why there's such a false economy to boxing in the US, unless you're on a contractual, long-term, guarantee from the network like Mayweather or Canelo, the money isn't there for PPV in the US.

The maths is out in terms of how many buys it would do in the US too. I think you get, maybe 500k, if you're lucky. About $19m, being generous. Wilder v Fury has done in the region of 300k-400k buys and delivered a robbery, it would be foolish to think this fight is going to be significantly bigger.

Assume the gate is about the same - it would be at least $12m in the UK. That's $31m. You'd get about 500k buys in the UK too, if that, if it was at 5am. About £8m, after deductions. (About $10m). Taking the fight to somewhere in the region of $40-50m.

I think it has a bigger upside in the UK. I also think, more importantly, more people will watch it in the UK ergo the fight should be in the UK.

And better plugging for the winner to eventually face Joshua, so win win for it being in the UK, in my opinion.
