The Usyk and Lebedev camps began negotiations.

My initial reaction was disappointment. As others have said, its time for the HW division in most respects. However, I think there is still legitimate debate about who the best CW of all time is, between him and Holyfield. If Usyk crashes and burns at HW, people will always say he was the 2nd best CW anyway. If he beats Lebedev and the winner of the WBSS(if it happens), then he will have really established himself as the best CW of all time, irrespective of his accomplishments at HW. Maybe he's doing this to guard his legacy at CW.

 

I am absolutely fine with that fight. Make it happen then move up to HW, take two tune up fights and fight for one of the titles.

 

Lebedev is gunna get stopped, he is completely past it and ever since the Gassiev fight I think he has lost the hunger. He is warrior but I think he should go ahead and retire.

 

I'll believe it when I see confirmations from K2.

This. Why not make sure of being the best cruiser of all time and then try out the HW division? I totally agree with this move.

Depends what it leads to for me. The fight itself is OK enough, but I'll properly back it if it means fighting the WBSS CW winner. That would be cool. If it's Lebedev and then HW, then I'm not entirely sure I see the point

 

Besides maybe a Breidis rematch (which he would win more clearly) there is absolutely nothing left for Usyk at cruiser.

 

I don't see the rationale for this fight other than to wipe clean the slate at cruiserweight.

 

I don't know wat Usyk is playing at. Bin this fight and go to heavy and go batter some of those wannabes. Even a rematch against Hunter would be decent

 

It's time for Usyk to step up.

He arguably is. Scalping Lebedev and the WBSS winner would put it beyond argument I reckon.
