Mandatory's are pending so if Wilder fights Joshua, Fury might need to wait until his mandatory obligations with Pulev (IBF) and Whyte (WBO) are dealt with.

If Joshua does fight Wilder next, I'd hope Warren tries to entice Pulev or Whyte into a fight to secure their mandatory status. Whyte fight seems the more likely, Whyte isn't scared of taking on a challenge and it would be a PPV fight in the UK in it's own right so the money would be good. That way Fury can hopefully then fight Joshua in late 2019 after Joshua KO's Wilder.

He does now all of a sudden he hasn't got a virtual monopoly on the HW scene and is at risk of becoming sidelined in the public i.e. casual view. This isn't rocket science to anyone with a few brain cells.

Hearn did an IFL interview a few days back where he stated Wilder still wouldn't be getting 50/50. I get the impression that this has become something of a personal vendetta for Hearn, that he is getting (or got) a kick out of playing hardball with Wilder.

Fury is a stylistic nightmare for Joshua, so makes sense that they would want to cash out on Wilder before having to take a massive risk with Fury. Wilder's defense is ridiculously bad and inside game weak as well, Joshua would get up and personal with him and blast him out of there early.

We know Fury has a glass jaw so anything is possible vs. AJ. I think Fury will handily outbox him for a couple of rounds, but Furys stamina and workrate are questionable. AJ would finish him unlike Wilder should he drop him.

I think it's a fair point that Joshua doesn't need to fight Wilder for a big payday, so I'm not sure why he would be desperate.

Fury's performance really put a spanner in the works for Hearn and AJ, before the fight they didn't seem worried at all, expecting Wilder to destroy the Gypsy King, now they desperate. Maybe they shouldn't have waited for an inactive fighter that was on a bender for two years to step in before they had the balls to :ciappa:

    I thought they were scared?
This sub 50 IQ idiot can't keep his story straight, he probably doesn't even realize that the horse manure his handlers are feeding him is contradicting itself

Joshua's team is probably just scared that fury beats Wilder before they make the Joshua Wilder fight.

He's not, this is utter bollocks.

Yes. I think there's a race on now to get to Wilder. If Fury does then he strengthens his position massively if he takes the green belt and he also destroys the value in the Wilder fight for AJ, particularly in opening up the US market. So if I were Hearn I'd tell Wilder it's now or never and offer him a decent deal, which from what's been said is what's happened.

The 50/50 talk though is fantasyland stuff. Not going to happen.

lol I'll never forget the body language Wilder displayed when the final bell rang in the fury fight.

Completely defeated and in dismay. he knew he underachieved and underperformed immediayely.

He can't possibly think he is worth anymore than he was before the Fury fight... he's stock has gone down with poor PPV sales... giving tickets away for free (nice thing to do btw) but it WREAKED OF GOOD PUBLICITY STUNT.... they got a smart team.... not smart enough to sway enoug fans to buy tickets though....

AJ is the cash cow, the Connor Mcgregor of the division.

Fury and Joshua desperate to get Wilder in the ring because he's the weak link.

It's become hilarious that Wilder fans see this as anything else.

The only issue is, Joshua might then own all 4 belts, but Fury will still be lineal champion, as AJ wouldn't even have 2 of those belts if Fury didn't go on a drugs binge.

Well so much for claiming they are ducking... Sad that the unified champion has to beg the Windmiller but I guess they want that last belt desperately.

    Exactly.
Joshua and his team should be confident of beating Wilder, but they aren't at all confident of Wilder beating Fury in a rematch.
And they know an improving Fury could be a real threat to Joshua.

We know Wilder shouldn't get 50/50, but if that's what it takes to get Wilder to the UK to face Joshua, wouldn't that split be worth it? If not then it's the Fury rematch and a good chance that the Wilder fight never happens.

Joshua not facing Wilder would be a massive disappointment, if the fight never happens.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again

If Wilder dodges a rematch with Fury and continues to avoid Joshua by fighting his next (ahem) mandatory in Breazeale, he will get beaten.

It’s personal for Breazeale, he’ll come to the fight having trained harder than ever, he’ll come to win which can’t be said of almost any other Wilder opponent.

Beyond that, Breazeale might have just the right combination of chin, power, skills, height & weight to get the job done.

It's not my money so if that's what happens and we see the fight, fine.

That said, I wouldn't offer that deal if I were Hearn and I wouldn't sign off on it if I were AJ. You don't work as hard as he has and build that following by taking the tougher fights to then reward a man who has done the opposite with a payday he hasn't earned and doesn't deserve. All that time Wilder cashed in fighting Haymon's cherry picks is what's put him in an inferior position. He's called AJ a coward, for taking on fights he shied away from. I'd tell him to go **** himself and either accept a fair deal or go get another boxing lesson from Fury or continue to wade through second rate US opposition until his speed departs and a lump like Breazeale knocks his block off.

But I'm petty like that. :)
