It's not often that I get caught up in the diva antics around our great sport, but this one has made me laugh more than it should. So, let's go back a few years and remember David Hayes excuse about his broken toe. How much flack he got (and to an extent, deservingly so). People on this forum went life and death to discredit his excuse after a lacklustre performance against the Champion. Fast forward to 2018 and you have the 'Champion' making excuse after excuse for his poor performance. So far, we have an update each week with more and more excuses: I broke my arm (with no evidence to support it) The ref had a 14 count (again, the 'evidence' that Wilder pushed on Instagram actually debunked his own theory as it had been edited!) I was distracted in camp I had a cold I went away from the game plan but would have knocked Fury out in 4 if I stuck to the plan 'It was a great result, i'm still the champion' - After a controversial DRAW!?! 'I was concerned about my own power' I did knock Fury out, the ref just had a bad night The judging was off, people clearly saw I won that fight 'How can you get two knockdowns and not win? It doesn't make sense' I overthrew my shots. In the rematch that won't happen. Fury's oily skin made it impossible to tie him up He was too big, next time ill come in at 245 The fight should have been called off. His eyes rolled in his head. The best part is every interview before he rattles off the excuses, he leads with 'I'm not making excuses, but...' So, now let's flip the script. If this was Anthony Joshua, or Tyson Fury making the same excuses, would they get off with 1. A very very controversial score (after losing arguably 9-3 rounds) 2. 10+ excuses as to why he fought poorly? Often in close controversial fights (Kovalev/Ward, GGG/Canelo for example) fans often state 'To win against the champion, you must take the fight to the champion'... Well, what do you call a 9-3 victory on the cards? The most generous score you can give Wilder is 8-4 to Fury, with one of those 10-8 rounds 10-9. Still having Wilder as the loser.
Love this (The best part is every interview before he rattles off the excuses, he leads with 'I'm not making excuses, but) If this was Anthony Joshua, or Tyson Fury making the same excuses thay would be wiped on the floor by boxing fans. To be fair Wilder does pack power but lost v Fury i had it 8-4.
Absolutely! Don't get me wrong. It was an entertaining fight and I really did think Fury was finished in the 12th, until he answered the count. All Fury had to do was finish that last round and the card 115-111 card from Elejandro Rochin would have been under worldwide scrutiny. Fortunately for that judge, Wilder is making enough noise that people have let it go by the wayside. I had a lot of questions about Fury leading up to the fight, and had the opinion that Wilder was a one trick pony. The fight confirmed all of those questions, much to my delight... and Wilders performance also supported my opinion that he is incredibly limited and relies on his power and power only. His career was done if he wasn't gifted the draw.
You forgot the gypsy voodoo And the he was too big excuse should always be referred to by its official title: ''The True Story of David and Goliath''
Its simple david haye got hammered becuase he has a fictional brain and should know better. Wilder gets a pass because he has an I.Q of 75. People just feel sorry for him
See David Price has an IQ of 70 and I feel sorry for him. He's like your little idiot kid brother that you want to protect from the bad bullies in the neighborhood. Wilder has an IQ of 70 but his head is so full of hot hair, he's so full of himself I have no sympathy for him at all.
Ya i don't even know if price is that stupid ,he just has that **** look on his face. if they made a remake of 'Of mice and men' he would be the first person id cast. Price comes across as the lovable loser getting sparked out and was hard done by drug cheats (they would have sparked him anyway) Wilder comes across as a weirdo window licker
“I was concerned about my own power” conquers all excuses, that one just takes the biscuit. He’s getting plenty of stick on here, whereas some posters are hell-bent on defending him
Yep! And the moron is STILL trying to push the 10 count conspiracy theory. I mean.. I guess he needs one of his 8 managers to explain what it means when one of the thousands of people he’s seen say “DEBUNKED” regarding his 10 count bull****. While they’re at it, one of them can explain to Deontey what “SCHOOLED” means. Because that’s what 80% of the population say what happened to him.
He’s getting plenty of stick on here. In the general media though, it’s likely because he’s simply not a star, therefore doesn’t get the coverage for all to see his excuses.
Joshua can't even get away from dominating a 12 round fight or taking to long where he finished off guys never mind a controversial scorecard or getting saved by the bell, it would be end game for him ! let's not forget Wilder was trying to push that Parker defeated Joshua and told Parker he was robbed, this is the type of individual you have unfortunately holding a belt....a belt he shouldn't have !
Well, it was easy to rip into Haye because he only stuck to one excuse. With Wilder there's a new one every day. It's hard to keep up.
You've got to be trolling right? Instead of deflecting your insecurities, how about you go back through my post history about Parker? Parker is limited, but even he would give Wilder A LOT of problems
