I agree, but AJ was losing the early rounds v Povetkin though and has only had 3 title fights including when he won the titles v Wlad and in that fight he lost rounds also.

Well, the cards were about even in both fights when they ended - so the judges, me and every other poster who has touched upon it in this thread disagree with you. If Jones was landing less, he was also getting hit with less. The point is that both were close fights score wise but with one fighter taking over when they were stopped.

He wasn`t getting hit that much because he wouldn`t punch, he just kept throwing loads of jabs well out of range, Griffin didn`t even bother reacting to Roy`s jab, because he wasn`t trying to land it.

The simple point is that it was even points wise and Roy was taking over.

Let`s agree to disagree and he destroyed him in the rematch anyway.

A few London rules fighters would probably top any of their modern contemporaries .

Jones was winning on two of the three cards and had also just knocked Griffin down in the round not scored. So no, Griffin wasn't actually beating him.

No, he wasn't beating him before the DQ.

Roy was cautious against Mike and Harding.

Let's see how Loma does when he fights bigger opponents in his 30's. Yes, he's an exceptional talent. But he's only had a handful of fights.

Didn't Linares give Loma more than enough trouble?

How about Pernell Whitaker? And also Iron Mike in the 80's lost a handful of rounds from 1985 - 1989. RJJ is a good call though.

McCallum`s natural weight was light middle and Roy had a huge reach advantage over Griffin which he failed to exploit and he had a power advantage also.

Larry Holmes got a lot of good press for not losing many rounds during the first few years of his reign.
