I really don't know why anyone fails to see the blatant corruption in the sport. No One was going to be allowed to beat Floyd in Vegas as long as he was standing a the final bell, His mantle has now been passed to Moonelo.
You don’t think ggg knew about Oscar corruption? He knows better than anyone He still signed up for the rematch and agreed to fight in Vegas
I’m not gloating about it, I clearly say it is wrong that this man is damn near impossible to beat on the card. However you and I both contribute to the problem because we watch his fights, we talk about his fights etc. I was one of the few saying after Canelo failed the test GGG should have gone his own direction because this guy Canelo was cheating, he has a whole machine behind him. But nope the GGG fanboys said no he should fight him, I predicted this and I have the posts to prove it. Nevertheless I do think Canelo won the second fight in terms of action in the ring. He made the adjustments for me. Unlike a lot of people even if I don’t like someone and what he stands for I can still give them their props and be objective about their performances.
This. The only reason people are saying that "the second fight was closer" is for 2 reasons: 1) The judges gave it to Canelo 2) The "story of the fight" angle where Canelo didnt run but actually held his ground. But those are intangible aspects that have nothing to do with how we should score the fight ourselves. The "story" means nothing when actually sitting down and totting up punches landed etc. Neither of those two aspects take into account that Golovkin outboxed Canelo again, landed more shots and landed heavier shots than in the first fight. I scored both fights 8-4 to GGG but the second was easier for me to score than the first.
Well I didn't see that one, so I'll have to take your word on it. Whatever happens he shouldn't ever get to have Dave Moretti judge one of his fights again. 7 of his last 11 fights? He's got his own private judge. Just looked up the trout fight. Moretti didn't judge, but the compubox doesn't tally with the scores. According to the stats Trout hit him with the same number of power shots but had an advantage of 30 jabs. How that translates into him losing 9 to 3 is perplexing.
GGG for me would be the worst business man in the world not to take a fight with Canelo even with the deck stacked against him....Fans need a reality check bad..Pro boxings about money, and GGG done what any sane man would do
Cleanelo tested positive before and immediately after both fights so just stop with the whining already.
Not that you've ever been known for your objectivity but you've become a sad parody of a bona-fide hater.
Canelo needs to thank the boxing gods (or actually the Vegas judges) that he got the nod, and otherwise he should man up and shut his mouth.
Yes and no, really. The majority thought he won the second fight too but you're absolutely right in saying you can't even give away 4 rounds and that comes with the paycheck - that's why I don't really feel bad for the guy. I don't think he needs to accept the loss though, not if he - and plenty of others - believe he won. With regards to the fight, Canelo made his adjustments but I thought GGG did too, boxing plenty effectively off the back foot (and without getting trapped on the ropes too). I lost some respect for him when he started jumping through the hoops to begin with for the Canelo fight, and if he moves up to 168 it's purely to fight him again as opposed to anyone else at 168. So, no I think he's perfectly within his right to feel pissed at both decisions but you're right in the sense that he must have known what the outcome would be if it was a close fight. It certainly wasn't a secret to anyone else.
There were lots of polls of fan scorecards, media scorecards, and similar, and a clear majority had GGG winning. And of late it hasn't been GGG personally moaning about the judging, it's been a mixture of his fans, neutral fans, media journalists, and his team / Loeffler (it's free publicity, why wouldn't they?). My understanding is that GGG's enjoying an extended holiday and leaving his team to sort out what happens next.
