That's crazy man. No welterweight in Boxing history is taking those right hands flush by Mosely for as long as Margarito did
He was the man they all feared he had to be got rid of by hook or by crook. A great fiughters career & good name tarnidhed by blatant liars & cowards
Margarito is certainly a top 5 without a doubt (at least imo..). If I have list, it'd go like this: - Jake LaMotta - Juan Laporte - Antonio Margarito - Marvin Hagler These are the top 4 IMO..
A great list. I have GGG somewhere in there too. Never hurt, takes unnecessary shots but it totally unfazed.
Yes GGG has never looked likely to go down, hard man Hagler, Bika, Froch, Lamotta, McColl, Oscar De La Hoya, Ali, McCullough, Toney, Mayweather, Eubank, Collins, Marciano, Monzon, Tunney, and Hopkins all come to mind for having excellent punch resistance.
Mosely lost some steam on his punches as he went up in weight. He wasn't a great puncher at welter and above, theirs quite a few welters I can think of off the top of my head that would've turned the lights out on Margarito much earlier than Mosely was able to.'
Was Cotto's left hook in the same galaxy of Pipino Cuevas? Was Mosely's right hand in the same universe as Hearns? Neither Cotto or Mosely are in the upper echelon of great punchers in the long illustrious history of the welterweight division. Maybe mid level, slightly below.....
Chris Eubank. Who else can have 2 fights against Nigel Benn and Carl Thompson and one against Calzaghe with their best shots landing flush on the chin round after round and not even looking slightly dazed at all? Eubank is often missed out when it comes to chin lists, but if you go back and watch his fights, he’s toughness is incomparable.
I like Sung Kil Moon for this question. I don’t think he was ever hurt and he has the style and opposition for the occasion.
