Interesting analysis. AJ has a great resume for the number of fights he has had. Wilder has only stepped up with the Ortiz and Fury fights, and I hope he continues to challenge himself against the best. Things are set perfectly now for Wilder vs AJ in April. Its difficult to know where Tyson Fury is, and how long it will be before he blows up again.
Joshua holds more legit knockouts against top opposition actual unable to fight on their back on the floor were.... Whyte, Breazeale, Povetkin! Wilders only actual knockouts were Szpilka and ???
You wouldn't know anything about numbers because that takes doing calculations. Wilder didn't want to fight Tyson anyway he was called by Warren because Tyson didn't need more warm up fights like he admitted he needed against Joshua because he knew Wilder was the easier fight and he showed it as well at around 80% ! He was even tricked into taking the fight by false info that Tyson wasn't ready.....
The average of Boxrec points could be a little misleading, as Wlad held on to 508points after the Fury loss; which was 18mnths prior. He was aged and maybe not 'worth' the 508. Although only 2 yrs prior, and 6mnths prior to the Fury fight Wlad was around 750points. To compare, the second Stiverne fight - Stiverne was a measly 57 boxrec points. Is a 41 yr old Wlad that much better a win? Possibly.
All the fury worshipers in here are in for a long break down. That was Tyson chance to get the W over Wilder. DW was completely unprepared for how quick fury really is in that ring. Everything looks different from the outside.. Also, Dw showed Tyson how tough he is and that was a shock to Tyson. Dw realized, just a tiny bit too late that fury couldn't hurt him nor wear him out which is what he's been able to do being so much larger and heavier than all his opponents Hugging and hanging all over your smaller opponent wears them out especially with Dw missing so many power shots.. They both showed their entire game... Knowing truthfully what happened in that ring. Fury showed he's every bit of what he was before taking that break, Dw had to figure fury out which took him too many rounds He now knows what he'd be meeting in that ring for real this time. That's if Tyson has the balls or will accept taking a fight he knows he lethality canNOT win.. Dw will take his time and just say fury up, catch him every couple rounds and be the stoppage before the championship rounds Mark my words, This would turn out to be a total mismatch. I couldn't call their first fight by I know everything I need to know, and I know even more
Well considering the fact that Wlad was very close to stopping AJ, and the only man to ever be so close, its safe to say that version of Wlad was far far far better than Stiverne who although a contender is nowhere near elite level. Wlads weakness was his stamina at that age, but he almost made that irrelevant by getting the job done in the 6th/7th round
Stiverne’s only notable wins in his entire career are over Chris Arreola who is pretty crap. So no surprise he had low points total on boxrec
Stats to Wilder fans are like Garlic to vampires. A few half bloods will try to make some lame argument about 50 million or something but most tend to stay well clear of facts and prefer to remain in their own fictional world.
Interesting lists but the part of ex champs fought doesn't tell the whole story. The ex champs wilder fought was a not very active stiverne and liakhovich who at that time was 2-4 in his last 6 fights Ex champs Joshua fought was undefeated Martin, undefeated Parker, Wladimir Klitschko who is a HW legend and although coming off a loss was 22-1 in his last 23 fights, Povetkin Except for the first stiverne fight for wilder, The ex champs Joshua was facing were all still highly rated compared to the ex champs Wilder faced in Stiverne 2 and liakhovich
We're talking specifically about the boxrec points system. Is Wladimir at 41 worth 500 and a shot to **** Stiverne only 50 odd.
