    Canelo's last ten fights:
    1. GGG MD 12
    2. GGG D 12
    3. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr UD 12
    4. Liam Smith KO 9
    5. Amir Khan KO 6
    6. Miguel Cotto UD 12
    7. James Kirkland KO 3
    8. Erislandy Lara SD 12
    9. Alfredo Angulo TKO 10
    10. Floyd Mayweather L MD 12
So he's knocked out two chinny guys in James Kirkland and Amir Khan; he stopped a smaller Liam Smith at 154 pounds and he stopped Alfredo Angulo in the 10th round, who is a punching bag which was a ref stoppage with Angulo protesting. The rest were all decisions where he didn't even hurt his opponent. I don't think he's a big puncher.

Can you please explain why he's going to knockout a much bigger fighter in Fielding in the early rounds?

GGG- granite chin and a pretty good boxer.
    Chaves Jr - granite chin
Liam Smith - survive till the 9
Khan - no chin out in 6
    Cotto - very good boxer
Kirkland - no chin out in 3
    Lara - pretty good boxer
Angulo - can take a hell of a punishment before going down
    Floyd a pretty good boxer

If trend holds true Fielder will get starch before rnd 9. Rocky fielder isn't a pretty good boxer nor a granite chin fighter.

Chavez Jr was a walking corpse. And if he had such a granite chin, why was he stopped by a scrub? Canelo should of been able to hurt him but he couldn't.

Angulo was a punching bag, if Canelo was this murderous puncher he would have stopped him before the tenth.

I'll give you the other guys were good boxers but still Canelo couldn't hurt any of them.

Canelo might earn a stoppage but I doubt it happens early and I'll be shocked if it's a Kirkland/Khan KO. It'll probably be a corner stoppage if the fight becomes not competitive.

Liam Smith isnt smaller than Canelo but I agree. Fielding is big and will take a beating.

Canelo isnt a big enough puncher to get him out early. Could get a late stoppage but I doubt that.

I doubt Canelo gets an early stoppage. I don't know why people think he's some huge puncher.

Im thinking more middle rounds rather than early. Canelo will take a few to make sure he knows how Fielding will aim to keep the gap and how to get through or round that. As soon as he has those things figured out and goes on the attack its only a matter of time. I think its stopped somewhere in the 6th or 7th.

The gulf in ring skills is far bigger than the gulf in size between them. But there is nothing better than an upset i would love to be proved horribly wrong.

Jr was not a walking corps. They guy didn't train for the fight and thought his size alone could win the fight against Canelo. Also the difference between this fight and the Fonfora fight was Jr fought to survive in the Canelo fight. He knew he wasn't going to win and did everything he can to make it to the final bell. In the Fonfora fight he was hopping his power bails him out and it didn't , leading him getting stopped.

Your point on Angulo? Yes he is a punching back with a hell of a whisker. The guy can take a beating in every fight he is in. He took a beating and got stopped. Only 2 other guys have stopped Angulo.

Fielder may surprise us and go all 12 but I don't think he will. If Canelo gets the KO it will be between 4 and 8 for me.

Jr was a walking corpse. There was a huge penalty if he came in overweight. He spent all his time making weight and was completely listless during the fight. I'll agree that he went in there to survive.

My point on Angulo is that Canelo is such a big puncher he'd have be able to stop a guy who used his face for defense. Regardless of whiskers, if you get hit by a real puncher too often, you're going down. Look at Margarito-Mosley.

I really doubt a guy who couldn't stop Josesito Lopez in four rounds, a blown-up 140 pounder is going to stop Fielding quicker.

Exactly, people are dismissing Fielding's size like it doesn't factor in at all. Canelo will box on the back foot and counter all night. Canelo UD all day.

Definitely I can see a Canelo stoppage here, maybe not early but anywhere between 6 and 10.

Canelo should win this fight but a W is definitely not guaranteed. Rocky's size and reach advantage will provide some challenges and an upset is not likely but it is a realistic possibility.
