Rocky was outclassed, but yeah he did seem happy just being there. I don't think he gave it 110% tbh, maybe only 95% lol. Probably was just happy to have his health and cash his cheque.
So basically what you're saying is that any person who has zero experience of a certain sport or field shouldn't comment on it? According to that logic 99% of people would not be commenting on anything because they don't have experience of it. That makes sense. That's definitely the way forward
No, you can most certainly have one, its just quite hollow. Backed up by the fact the opinion would be laughed out of any boxing gym ive ever been in... wait, its boxing your opinions on right ?
Mine was shocking lmao. It was based on the best Rocky actually trying. Definitely overestimated him by a country mile.
I'm pretty sure some boxers amateur or pro would, at the same time admitting Rocky was brave, also be critical of him for giving up his 'world' title so easily. Some will hate the fact he 'sold' his belt. Some will hate to see a man smiling when getting knocked down and losing. There's no shame in losing - it's the manner of the defeat. It was plain to see that his preparation for this fight wasn't the best. He saw the dollars and half-arsed it. The rehydration clause would have made it difficult, but with so much to gain why not do more? Maybe he didn't. Maybe that's where Fielding is at. Either way, don't ****ing smile when you're getting battered. It takes the **** out of the fans.
You can’t knock a man for simply being inferior. He had all the statistical advantages, height, weight, reach etc. But Canelo will go down as an all time great, he’s a phenomenon and in terms of boxing abilities he was just leagues and leagues ahead. “Rocky sold his belt” I’d rather him sell his belt, madison square garden against one of the greatest of all time with those advantages I’ve mentioned above and a pay day like he’ll never see again. What’s the alternative? Routine defences in the echo arena earning 70/80k a fight but keeping the belt. He’s came back and rebuilt from an L before, he can do it again but his level is probably European.
Just watched the fight I thought rocky did really well.....for his level He let his hands go just fine just he was simply outclassed. No shame in that, he did sell his belt...so what, if Canelo offered me a fight at Madison Square to go get beat up for a few quid I would be there selling my soul too. Good on him. What does it matter, he's obviously not good enough to be top level but he tried Whether or not he took the knees a bit easy as a way out or whether he was genuinely hurt who knows but he was never going to win.
Wtf were Adam Smith and Matthew Macklin on? You would think Fielding was pulling off some Buster Douglas type shock the word performance the way they were banging on. Macklin (who is usually one of the better Sky commentators when it comes to doing this sort of things) even said something at the end of round 2 like "I know he's lost both rounds 10-8 but this is still competitive" It was not remotely competitive and the mismatch we all suspected.
