Bowes underrated these days probably because he had such a short prime, but the 91/92 Bowe would almost certainly stop Vitali. If an aging, unmotivated Lewis could box with Vitali and land those uppercuts imagine what prime Bowe would do.
Vitali would beat Bowe 10 out of 10. Bowe was too hittable. would absorb too much punishment and be ko'd by 8. In the first match between Bowe and Golota, crazy Golota out jabbed Bowe easily and landed half of his 69 punches in the first round. Of course, boxing is not always logical...i.e. boxer a can beat boxer b ...so therefore he can beat boxer c because b can. However, since it is conjecture...and by Bowe's own words crazy Golota was just a bum. How did a bum do so well against him? Vitali would control distance and ko Bowe by 8.
Maybe, but Vitali boxed nothing like Golota in terms of style, and it's probably worth noting that Golota did better vs prime Byrd than Vitali did against green Byrd.
@dinovelvet Riddick Bowe just fought ONE Eastern European in his whole career and Golota whooped his ass both times! He's lucky the EE's hadn't quite arrived by that time in the pros. by the time they were allowed to arrive in the pros in decent numbers was around the same time Jimmy ****ed you over wasn't it you clinically depressed rodent Vitali would have destroyed Bowe.
this argument was always so ridiculous. since time traveling isnt a thing, faulting champs for lack of opposition is like yelling at someone for how tall they are. and makes as much sense
Rumsfeld, Dino and Herol all voted Bowe - well you can discredit those 3 bums votes straight away lol
VK stepped up twice and was stopped twice.....fact. A aging one foot out the door questionable chin Lennox Lewis simply mauled VK like he stole his wallet, no finesse, just ripped his face off, over the eye, under the eye, cheek, inside the mouth etc which required hundreds of stitches. If Lewis can do that up close showing zero respect to VK punching power then probably the best ever Heavyweight infighter ever, Riddick Bowe ,would be arrested for man slaughter the way he would handle paper thin skin VK..........VK has zero inside game, cannot throw short hooks and does not clinch = disaster against Bowe. Even non stop low blowing Golata could not keep a shot Bowe off him and quit twice.
And what makes your vote for vitali any better you ee bootlicker. If they dont pick the ee boxer they dont know **** about boxing???? You'd pick the ee boxer in every match up against a non ee fighter in history if you could.
I think Vitali wins on points. Bowe is there to be hit. You add Vitali's size advantage, plus awkward style, and excellent ability to place his punches, the fact that he's always in top shape, oh and he has an excellent chin...I don't see how anyone can favor Bowe.
Tough fight to predict. I never liked Bowe or his punk team led by Rock Newman. Style wise though this has potential to be good fight. Say Vitali of the Kirk Johnson fight where his confidence was through the roof after the strong showing against Lewis vs the Bowe of Holyfield 1. Great fight I can’t pick a winner although I rate Vitali slightly higher than Bowe.
That “Aging and Unmotivated” Lewis still had a lot more experience, hit way harder and a better skill set than Bowe in the early 90’s who’s biggest claim to fame is a decision over a 208lb Holyfield. And he’s supposed to STOP Vitali??! Bowe and Vitali also have a few common opponents... how did they both do against them? Lewis was calling out Bowe like a lunatic years after dispatching him in Korea. Not so much after getting out boxed and nearly KOed by Vitali. Vitali’s strength, size, range, skills and thudding power would wear Bowe the **** out and get him out of there within the distance. This isn’t Jorge Louis Gonzalez or a 208lb cruiser weight Riddick is going up against. This is a skilled 250lb 6’7” boxer/puncher with a mean streak.
