I don't watch it any more. Smug Lineker and the political BBC do my head in.

I have to stand up for Dina Asher Smith, she’s done everything she could in the last 12 months and for an English sprinter to finish as the fastest woman in the world over 100m & 200m is pretty historic.

As for the BBCSPOTY show, I’m with most on here, it’s a contrived format that looks like a mixture of XFactor, Who Wants to be a Millionaire and the BAFTAs.

Like everything else SPOY has become a BBC box ticking exercise.
Thomas won the Tour of France and wins it, Wiggins won the Tour of France wins it, Frome wins the Tour of France 4 times, has never won it.

To be fair, he ran into some decent selections. Like him or not, when you become the first British man to win tennis grand slams since Fred Perry you're going to have a serious chance of winning this sort of stuff.

Perhaps he likes to be overseas, bulking up, when out of competition.

He's probably giving out his own BBC awards to the female population of New York.
A Christmas stuffing, you could say.

No way did the British public vote for that. How many people do you know who watch netball or were even aware of that game? I don't know any. The whole thing is a joke.

    No, that would be ridiculous.

He beat Wlad after he was already dethroned. It was a great fight but was close, not enough to win SPOTY - especially as Fury beating him far more conclusively wasn’t enough in 2015.

I didn't watch it. But you only have to live in the world to know it has now become a United Colours of Benetton pageant of 'inclusivity'. Please understand I don't give a toss what people look like or where they come from, but I've got no interest - none at all - in fake news short lists that balance ethnicity and gender. In fact, because I think it is destroying society and driving a wedge between people (rather than the opposite, as those who do it imagine...) I refuse to watch this kind of thing now.
